If I just wanna make a passenger go "holy $hit!!!" then 3k-4k RPM's is good enough. I've only done that twice. The first time I told the guy...this is really gonna suprise you so make sure you don't drop that frapachino. However his scrawny little rat claw dropped it but fortunately it didn't spill out of the plastic lid. He was like...OMFG I wasn't expecting that bro.

But if I'm ever racing an Enzo for pink slips I'll do the 5k RPM thing.

5K Rev limiter, Still bog a little and took off,

I'm guessing 6k is the sweet spot???? or I just need more power to get the wheels to spin a bit more

Pete,
I can see your post when u hit 3000 miles
"I need a new clutch...Evo clutches suck!!!"
sorry had to say it

I just take off like normal then punch it

I dissagree I think the stock clutch is fine if you can drive. I drive my car hard and have 19K on the stock clutch.

By driving "hard," do you mean you do full-out 6k launches from a dead stop all the time, or you just high-rev it in most gears while already moving? One destroys the clutch, while the other just stresses all the car parts to some degree or another.

stock clutch is not fine, its probably the weakest part of the evo, and if evo owners are driving thier car the way it should, it shouldnt last more than 7 to 10,000 miles

No 6K launches for me plenty 4-5K though. I think the people that can refrain from dropping the clutch at 6K at every light will see longer life from the stock clutch and better overall success with our tranny's as a whole.

It may be the weakest point on the car, but saying it shouldn't last longer that mileage is a joke. Our cars were not built with the idea of dropping the clutch at 6k at all times. That is one of the reasons the EVO gets such a bad rep for its tranny all together.

It's not the clutch that's weak, it's the driver.

Now, I don't want to see a single thread created by any of you 6k launchers in here that yer diff blew out or yer clutch just took a crap and you can't for the life of you figure out why this happened.

hahahahahaha

I launched mine for the very first (and only so far) time last saturday. I was on an empty road with a few friends, just stopped, revved to 4400-4600 and dropped it (not planning on doing that again for a while) and the car kinda motioned to move forward, like a jaguar about to pounce its prey. Then suddenly found its place and bolted unlike anything I'd ever felt before.

Its a pretty new feeling considering I drive an eclipse and the fastest car I'd driven was an IT-R about 3 years ago (so I'd even forgotten what a launch at 195hp was too)

Deffinitely did the trick with me and my 3 passengers. Not sure if less would be enough with just me but I like the idea of not having to buy a clutch so I don't think I'll be doing that much too often unless a stock STi comes up to the line. Then I'll just have to for my own peace of mind to see what the car can stand up to.

Bone stock MR here. Had it for 13 days now. 960 miles so far. :O

I launched my car at 1.5k-2k. No drama. No bog. Works everytime. Perfect launch time after time. Never had and never will have clutch problem.

I can't even remember how many times I see a thread about "how do I get a perfect launch?" or "At what rpm do you guys launch your car?" If every time I can get the time I spent reading on these threads I probably will add an extra year or two to my life.
