What RPM's Do You Launch At?

I can't even remember how many times I see a thread about "how do I get a perfect launch?" or "At what rpm do you guys launch your car?" If every time I can get the time I spent reading on these threads I probably will add an extra year or two to my life.

I seem to do fine with a 5500 rpm launch. Whats your best 60 foot? proof please.
you should be launching at at least 4500 rpm. anything less and you are dropping out of good boost and not really using your car to its awd potential.
with a act 2600 or equiv/better you should be launching between 6k-7k. You will drop to prob 4k then jump back up to 7k or better when you shift. The rpm loss should go down to no less than 4k when you are shifting.

Anyhoo....it's kinda getting silly.....it's all good....

I had my first two runs last weekend at Firebird. At first I was a little nervous and I think I launched around 5000. It was smooth, but my 60' was rotten - 2.012. I ended up at 14.072 @ 99.09. The second time around I spoke to another Evo guy that ran a 13.6 completely stock. He gave me some pointers and I tried to bounce the throttle in the 4000-5000 range in order to get into the boost, however, I got nervous again and ended up dumping at 7000. This torched my clutch and I had an even worse 60' - 2.123, with a time of 14.083 @ 99.59.
With the mods I have, I was hoping to get at LEAST into the mid 13's. I think it's all about the launch. Anyone have any suggestions on improving 60' times?

As for launching, I think the advice you got would have been fine, but you didn't execute. Don't worry about that, because it's VERY nerve-wracking when you're a newbie to the track, and it's even more difficult to launch an AWD car. Once you get more comfortable with both the 4-5k feathering technique and no longer get butterflies, I think you'll start to see that 60' time get down in the 1.8 range, which should be fine for you. With some skill and practice, you should get 1.7s consistently as long as your clutch/tires aren't worn.
