Having 13k to put down is great, but financing 17k over 6 years...?
BTW...why are you always so harsh on words with the young and impressionable naive fellow members? All you have to do is to tell them nicely that he is a "****ING IDIOTIC IMBECILE."

How would I be being raped? The total price after 13k down and 72 months at 290 per month including interest would be 33,880. I mean yeah its about 3,000 in interest, but is that alot compared to what you guys are paying? Also correct me if I am wrong about my post before, but isn't the price going to be the same for the IX except about $500 more for each model?

Since that you are polite about this, I won't mess with ya....But my question to you would be how would you figure out the interest is $3000? Do you know the APR already? coz I thought you are only thinking about buying it in May or so...no???

Well I won't be putting the car in my name because then the insurance would be in my name and I couldn't be close to affording that. My mom would cosign and she has good credit and works at a bank and asked her what the APR is for a new car for someone with good credit. So I just factored in if the APR was 5%. I have no idea what it exactly will be, but that should be close since she will be cosigning.

Okay dude....that makes much more sense now....and $3k on interest is just about right. The only thing that's not very likely is the 5% APR loan for the term of 72 months is not very likely. But then you have your mom doing her mojo...you might just get that. If you can...that would be great! Good buy.

Here goes my calculation for you. These are all hypothetical numbers....say you get a 05 EVO IX and...

MSRP $31,000
+tax&lics.... ~8% of your MSRP
Your Total =$33480
Downpay -$13,000
Your loan =$20480
Your APR = 5%
Your monthly =$330
Total you pay after 72 months =$23760
Total Interest on your loan =$23760-$20480=$3280...not bad...
The interest you pay is 16% of your original loan.

I think I am going to just get the 05. Because the only reason I would get the IX would be for the MIVEC engine and once its broke in I am going to put the buschur stage 1 on it. Stage 1 plus price I can get an 05 for is less than a IX and my VIII would easily beat the IX.

Should I buy the Evo in end of May/beginning of June or wait for the IX to come out. If I wait for the IX I could probably get the Evo a little cheaper because its a left over if they still have it. Is the MIVEC engine and 8 hp or whatever it is more worth buying a IX instead of VIII. By the way I would put 13k down and payments would be roughly 290 per month for 72 months.
Get a job before worrying about a new car

I would just wait and find out if the new job is going to work out then buy one at the end of the year for cheaper.
