Which would you get?

So the other day, I stopped at the Mitsubishi dealership near me to look at an Evo. I saw one I like and can purchase it for about 30,200 OTD. Its an Electric Blue, not MR. Although I do like STi's, I am afraid that the new redesign isn't going to look very well. Currently I am a student who just got fired from his job for some BS. First I would get a new job ASAP. Should I buy the Evo in end of May/beginning of June or wait for the IX to come out. If I wait for the IX I could probably get the Evo a little cheaper because its a left over if they still have it. Is the MIVEC engine and 8 hp or whatever it is more worth buying a IX instead of VIII. By the way I would put 13k down and payments would be roughly 290 per month for 72 months.

Get the STi. Then maybe you can get your warranty work covered. (if it even breaks...)

72 months? Good lord...

Student with no job that has 13k saved up? Am I the only one who had no money in college? I could barely afford my crappy cavalier, despite not even paying for lodging or meals, yet you are able to entertain the thought of a brand new EVO while in college with no idea of what 2nd-rate job you'll have next?

Having 13k to put down is great, but financing 17k over 6 years...?

I am hoping for the prices of the EVO to start to drop around my price range, so far they still continue to hold their values very well. I mean you can pick up used 350Zs and RX-8s for under $20,000, an EVO, keep dreamin'. Hopefully with the introduction of the IX, the prices will start to slowly filter down, or not, the car in my opinion is going to be a classic.

I don't know if this is such a good idea. If he does, he'll probably be walking out with an Evo that he can't afford yet.

If I dropped 13k for a down payment and get a new job...I can easily manage the payments and pay for a decent amount of my insurance. The question also isn't should I get an STi or Evo. Its which Evo would you want. The VIII at may/june, Leftover Evo for cheaper when the IX comes out, or wait for the IX. So bascially do you guys think the MIVEC engine is worth waiting for becuase it's the only reason I would get the IX.

In your situation, why do you want to buy a EVO 9. Just get a EVO 8 for used with HID and sunroof. The EVO 9 will cost much more than the new EVO 8.

It won't be that much more. Isn't the price going up only about $500 for the IX? And buy the time the IX comes out I will have more money saved so my payments will actually be cheaper. And I would never buy a used car.

The 9 is definately nice, but keep in mind, it will be more expensive than a 05 MR.

You always want what you don't have. If you can swing the financing, get the 9. You'l wish that you had eventually.

A regular evo IX won't be more expensive than an 05 MR. All the prices are supposed to go up $500 from what they are now. An 06 IX should be just a little more than what you guys paid for your VIII.

The very first thing I would do is to buy a Fully automatic rifle and go postal on whoever fired you for the BS you have endured and suffered there.

Then I would think about the money you could have saved on interest alone and the dignity of you being raped by the dealer for 72 more months.
