are you saying that was bad for the clutch to dyno it right afterwards??? AS long as you dont overheat it it should be fine right? thanks

eeek... I would've broken it in first... It also depends on the type of dyno you used- in relation to how straining it was on your car. DynoJets are pretty similar to street driving.

It was a DynoJet...Honestly I was a little hesitant to do it because I thought it was bad, but my mechanic and tuner whom I REALLY trust with my car said it would be ok....still going to do the 500 miles also...

Congrats on the power evoego.
Sorry to go off topic, but how are the comparison of power between ur set up and the straight 272s? I have 272s sitting in my room, but i was looking to exchange my 272 exhaust cam for a 264. The vendor i bought it from recommended the straight 272 setup if i plan to upgrade my turbo, but i actually dont plan on upgrading. My car is daily driven, so i dont know how much of a loss of lowend torque there would be with the 272s. Any info would help.....thanks man and congrats on ur awesome numbers!

I agree- I'd love to see the comparrison between a set of 272's and even 264's... I'm about two weeks away from placing my order- and right now I'm leaning towards the 272/264 combo.

thanks man!! I really appreciate it...I really like it...The torque really seems to hit a little harder down low and no hp is lost up top either...I highly recommend it and I am sure when I can play a little once clutch is broke in it will churp the wheels good in the first 2 gears...The torque hit is the difference to me it gains so fast and hold over 300lbs until 6K easy.

well, sounds like ur enjoying the car Matt. Doug and i were talking when u left, we think ur car with FMIC and bigger injectors is gonna be a beast. Im actually jealous cuz i have the fmic and injectors, yet my numbers don't seem to match to the mods.
anyway, im glad you're enjoying the car, hope to see at TopSpeed real soon.

thanks man, I enjoyed hanging out and such.....I will be down on a regular basis now I gues every couple of weekends if cool with Doug(sure it is)....I am a little surprised myself...wish I could turn up the boost just a tad, but the numbers are impressive and SAFE!!! The clutch seems weird now as it doesnt want to go in gear at ALL until warm(normal??) and makes a popping sound that sounds like when a CV joint is gone on a FWD car????hmmm...Occassionally itwants to do that sputter thing as well...No complaints here, I am enjoying it...I will make it down soon when we have more time to work aout these small kinks(if any) instead of rushing to finish the shop car for the shootout...Oh Yeah everyone, if it gets finished, Be Prepared!!

If the lift of the GSC's is the same as the HKS then the power will be the same. Pretty much any 272, 264 combo will produce the same results. I have the HKS 272i/265e setup in my car and love the idle and power it makes. A friend of mine has straight 272's and our torque curves were nearly identical. I made 346whp on Topspeeds dyno with these cams and a few other mods.

I installed a set of GSC 272/264 and set of HKS 272/264 today in two 03 Evos. The cars sound totally different.GSC has a more lumpy idle than the HKS by far don't know why if there supposed to be the same.We whent for a ride and a little tuning with AFC and wideband. The GSC cams really makes the car pull hard and the engine revs really fast with these on.The car sounds and feels really mean.Couldn't tune the HKS fitted car but went for a spin to test it and the car feels more quiet and idle is lumpy but not V8 style like the GSC car.
For anyone worried about idle i would say get the 264 set cuz the idle is nasty with these puppies.

You could have a stock like idle with the 272/264 combo, it just requires cam gears. Im not sure what the proper timing would be, but if u get a good tune, u can have a really good idle. Just letting u know cause i think the 264/264 setup is a bit conservative. Everyone is making big power on the 272/264 combo, so that seems to be the right choice for people with a stock turbo and dont really plan on upgrading.

I think the reason for the engine revs and pulling harder could be due to the fact that all Evos are different?

I don't think you need cam gears to have it idle like stock, just some good tunning.

Im getting a set of GSC 264 (in/ex) cams installed then custom tuned on May 7th. I was originally going with the HKS 264 but Al and others have had nothing but good things to say about the GSC's. Will post results as soon as get back from TopSpeed.
