Actually something like that might be what I'm looking for. I want a 3", but something that is quiet enough that it won't say "hey look at me!! *rumble*"

After searching through some exhaust threads.. does anyone have the Buschur with magnaflow? How does it sound? Also, how are the power gains on that vs. the straight through muffler?

is quiet becasue it has 2 or 3 resonators, sounds sweet..also the tip doesn't stick out too much and would recommend an exhasut heat shield or you risk melting the bumper

you're going about this the wrong way. getting a new exhaust is not gonna stop cops from profiling and giving you tickets. you need to find out what the legal noise level is in you area, buy a sound meter, make sure that it is under the acceptable limit and fight this in court. once you've won a case, you can just show the cop the papers the next time you get stopped.

That's the problem. There is no "legal" limit. The law says "anything louder than stock is illegal", but that is unbelievably subjective, so the cops can pretty much pull over anybody they want to.

I guess what I could do is fight the ticket and hope I win, but it's pretty much a "I say cop says" kind of argument, and in those cases the cop usually wins.

Actually, now that I think about it.. my silenced JIC exhaust was putting out 82dB compared to the stock exhaust at 80dB.

Is it even possible to find something quieter?

I have the JIC stainless steel exhaust, and mine came with a silencer; I haven't used it because no one has stopped me yet for noise, and believe me here in Cali the gestapo stops you for just about anything. If your exhaust didn't come with a silencer (it's supposed to) get in contact with where ever you bought it and have them send you one. I tried mine out and it definitely made the exhaust quieter without a big hit in the performance department.

The silencer was in. I still get pulled over. At least Cali has the 95dB rule, though..

I think I need to take my car to an exhaust shop and have the muffler re-welded so that it's straight exit. I think the angle exit maybe drawing more attention than it needs to be.

Go with the RMR. Not loud but sounds very good and it is anglesd with a 4" tip.

I have a Vishnu Signature Series Exhaust and it looks and sound almost stock with the cat(i actually think it's quieter than stock at idle but get louder than stock at WOT.). My friend has an AVO exhaust and that is actually the quietest exhaust i've come across period. If it is the look that gets you in trouble, these two both look fairy stock. If it is the sound that gets you in trouble, just slip in two resonators maybe three and they won't be able to hear you coming.
