Got my 3rd exhaust ticket... help me pick a new exhaust

Just got my 3rd exhaust ticket on the way to work this morning, in this cop heaven area called Northern Virginia. It's like I'm paying a $80 fee every 6 months just to OWN my exhaust. Sounds a lot like financing all of a sudden.

I currently have a JIC angled catback, which used to have a titanium tip, but I spray painted it black to try to look stealthier. Clearly, it hasn't worked, because I've gotten pulled over the last two times with it looking black.

I want a new exhaust. Not too loud, and not too big. That rules out all JDM style exhausts (4" muffler, angled look), Helix, Buschur, and anything else that is pretty damn loud. If possible, I would like it to have a silencer. Cost is of course an issue as well - the cheaper, the better.

Guys, recommend me a new exhaust.

Right now, the Vishnu exhaust is looking tempting, but it's a bit $$ for me. Ideas?

I urge you to reconsider the Buschur. Go with the Magnaflow muffler option at no extra charge. It sounds delicious!

I would, but the Buschur just sticks out way too much and looks a tad ghetto for me. I know it makes the power, but the looks just don't jive with me, sorry!

Thermal R&D .... nice and quiet at low end enough to turn heads but not annoy them. get up around 5k-6k it gets a lil noisy but still not to bad. Shouldnt be that high on the street anyways. Has kept me out of exhuast troubles!!

Sorry to hear about it. We all need to do something about all these tickets. I thought we lived in America. Land of the free my ***! I wish we could sue the police for violating our constitutional rights for the pursuit of hapiness.

Trust me, it had to be done. Until you've lived in the NoVA area, you don't know what the cops are like. They tramps the streets like it's their house and they do anything and everything they want. And if you drive an Evo - you are grouped with all the other ricers, because the cops don't know a thing about cars. I've met some decent cops in VA, but that was in Southern VA. In NoVA, all the cops are asses.

If you can get these guys to make you a US version of their exhaust, they are the way to go.

Everyone tells me how stock mine looks, and it sounds great.

Megan Racing exhaust is fairly cheap and comes with a silencer.

Buschur will make you an exhaust with any muffler you want on it. Maybe you should talk to him and maybe he can help you pic a stealthy muffler that is quiet. Plus his prices are good.

I had a Magnaflow Race Series 3" muffler on my evo. High Flow Cat and 3" downpipe etc. Sounded Real nice, was actually a little too quiet for me, but I liked the stealthiness.

Your results may vary =)
