Finally driving a 05 Red Evo

Hey guys. I have been browsing around evo, sti and rx8 forums for about 6 months trying to figure out the right car for me. I've very tall (6 foot 5) and I couldn't fit comfortably into the sti so that was ruled out very quickly. I couldn't make the long hour and a half drive to mazda dealership to try them out. Finally test drove an evo and fell in love with it. Kinda worried me about the clutch problems you guys have had but all cars have a weak point. I have about 60 miles on it and I am trying to break it in.

The only problem is that the car is really jerky in first gear when I try to pull into the garage at low speed. I saw a thread that discussed taking it to the dealer which I will be doing tomorrow because of a large screw in the tire.

Overall I am very happy with it and damn this breakin is hard

Thanks guys.

Darwinator: Does your friend have a silver evo with black graphics on it? I have seen that Evo at the grocery store once.

Tureno-AE86: Should 500 miles be the first oil change? I was thinking of changing the oil this weekend which it would be around 100 miles or alittle over. What should be the first oil change?

Best part about the evo...I'm 5'7" and no matter how tall my friends are...they enjoy it just as much.

no.. probably oil change around 1000 or 1500 for the first time then it's enough..
the rest just follow the regular schedule which is every 5000 miles and constantly check the engine oil level coz they tend to eat engine oil a lot
