Just got a Ninja. By By Evo
why did you choose the Ninja over the honda CBR, the Suzuki GSX-R, and of course, the Yamaha R-6? Mind to elaborate on that??
Personally I would not choose the Ninja given Kawasaki's long history of poor build quaility. but the kawasaki has de best exhaust note IMO. The Honda CBR is easy to ride pretty hassle free bike, not very exciting except maybe at the hi-rpms. Suzuki has a very good build quality, overal great performer. The R-6 is just not a ride to handle for beginners....because of the high seat stance and the killer on rush during the high rpms....
That's my 2 cents.

only the R-6 beat the 636 in the quarter but from a roll none of the other 600's can touch it even the r-6 . The 636 is like the evo in the real world of the streets the 636 just dominates.
I just sold my bike for a ATV...LOL
and buying a 600cc bike isn't all about top speed or drag racing....thats what busas are for. Buying a 600 is about reliability, flexability, STYLE(600rr is the shiz), and comfort.
Btw badlooser, i ALMOST bought the all black 450r the other day, went with the Z400 instead, as i do some trail riding and need reverse. That 450r is SEXXXY

blah blah blah.. all 05 bikes are basically the same(the gsxr just a little better) mostly all up on what you perfer. very dangerous first bike though, and i believe its 90% of people WILL drop their bike whether its a standstill or worst.. dont wanna lecture or anything because i cant sway your opinion but just dont get curious on the throttle, because i bet that you already been able to lift the bike a little. too many accidents from people flipping their bikes

Kawasaki = 36 hours
Honda = 21 hours
Suzuki = 13 hours
Yamaha = 31 minutes
another R6 engine was tested and the results were the same.
Nothing can touch the 6R's performance, cheapest price and reliable. The extra displacement gives more torque. The underseat exhaust sucks for street riding and storage.
The R6 has no low end power, the fused head, and welded subframe make it not crashworthy and expensive to repair. I know racers that have had frame specs change from the bike falling off a stand. The transmissions is pretty crappy too but it isthe prettiest bike of the bunch.
The Honda is probably the easiest to ride fast, the most stable and the better of the 599 motors. The underseat exhaust was a function of the slick suspension, but still gives 0 storage room and started a slew of lame copies.
The gix is the best all around street bike I think. It does everything well, isn't expensive, has storage, and comparable performance to anything in the class.
I'm a Honda guy, but will probably buy a Gixxer next. My F2 is getting tired and my new racebike is almost done.
Enjoy the 6R, and learn to ride well or better yet, go to a roadrace course and learn what it can do.
if i could do it again i would of gotten a 04 gsxr. i think those are the bikes to have right now. i had an 01 so i didnt want to get another gsxr, so i went with an 04 636. but i have no complaints with my 04, its a lot different from the 05's. the new ones are a lot bulkier now and not quite my taste as they were in 03-04.
