I figured that the SRT4 is a unique car in its own way, was quick, but I figured having a bike would just make things a bit different....
so at times I have a hard time deciding which one to drive....
BTW, bikes are a lot less fun if your friends don't have them.
FWIW, i had a 600 for my first bike, but i have been around dirtbikes and 4wheelers my whole life. Not having to think about the simple things like shifting, braking, and taking off make the world of difference i think. Lots of people will tell you that experience on dirtbikes don't help, but thats BS.
BTW, the 05 gixxer 600s look best of the bunch. Im sold on the new blue/wht color scheme. Too bad every rookie squid wants a gixxer and they are all over the place. Makes resale suck and your cool points for owning one go down. I still love em though

To tell ya the truth, I have very minimal experience riding a motorcycle, yet my 05 Gixxer was my first NEW bike.
some people will talk down on me and tell me i'm nuts,
but so far after riding for 200+ miles I'm getting more confident on it.
A lot of my practice has been driving at night, thru manhattan NYC, and locally....
I still have to break in the tires before I do any serious leans.

another R6 engine was tested and the results were the same.
Nothing can touch the 6R's performance, cheapest price and reliable. The extra displacement gives more torque. The underseat exhaust sucks for street riding and storage.
The R6 has no low end power, the fused head, and welded subframe make it not crashworthy and expensive to repair. I know racers that have had frame specs change from the bike falling off a stand. The transmissions is pretty crappy too but it isthe prettiest bike of the bunch.
The Honda is probably the easiest to ride fast, the most stable and the better of the 599 motors. The underseat exhaust was a function of the slick suspension, but still gives 0 storage room and started a slew of lame copies.
The gix is the best all around street bike I think. It does everything well, isn't expensive, has storage, and comparable performance to anything in the class.
I'm a Honda guy, but will probably buy a Gixxer next. My F2 is getting tired and my new racebike is almost done.
Enjoy the 6R, and learn to ride well or better yet, go to a roadrace course and learn what it can do.

all the best to you on your new bike purchase.
I sat on the Kawi and thought it was made cheaply......
The suzuki and honda feel more solidly built.
Kawi kinda feels like a Hyundai
I think you said this was your first bike, and I'm sure you hear this all the time but it can't be said enough....BE CAREFUL!!! I don't know if you are a member of any of the bike forums, but this story has been all over just about all of them.

Thanks for sharing that, I'll be careful.
I'm an easy going guy. I dont do any stunts or crazy stuff, I just cruise along and pose.
I'm usually on the gixxer.com forum

I never rode a bike in my life and decided to buy one 2 years ago. I took the MSF course and got my liscense and the following weekend I did the Art Basic course with TPM. I figured if I was going to ride a bike I should learn from the best. I seriously had the time of my life and I now own 3 bikes and not one of them is street legal. You can't come close to riding a bike to it's (or your) potential on the street. You also can't come close to soccer moms on the track, (unless they are on two wheels too). I was told by the coaches that going to the track right away was a big benefit to me because I didn't have a chance to develop the bad habits that riders usually pick up on the street.
Read up on a recent track day where over 20 local guys went on the track for the first time here:
