OK, after reaing a couple posts on how some people like to reverse the connections on the DV, I gave it a go. All I can say is HORRIBLE. It definitely made some interesting sounds, but it surged like heck and fluttered constantly. It got swapped back around after very little driving. It did appear to hold boost quite well, but to anybody considering this...I'd suggest thinking twice. At least make sure you do it when you have time to turn it back around...

It works great if you just want to drag race. Definitely not the best daily setup. I flip it around every once in a while if I'm at the strip because it does hold boost rock steady. It's not like it isn't drivable, just have to learn how to make smooth transitions when cruising.

Thanks burning.
Speaking of BOV, not to go off-topic. What is a blow-off valve that flutters as it vents. It's hard for me to describe, but I was wondering if it depend son the engine. I remember hearing an HKS SSQ on a RX-7 and it almost sounds like a turkey gobbling, or like the BOV is venting in spurts. Same on a Mazdapseed Protege. Sometimes I dont hear that affect on other cars.
What causes that interrupted sound, instead of smooth woosh or high pitched whistle?

^^^
from what i gather , the valve opens too easy creating the fluttering sound.
having a tight valve that takes more boost to open will get you the nice sound.
i hate stock vw 1.8t that put a bov on, and all you get is the sound of a wounded turkey

Ah, so you can adjust the tightness of the vavle. The looser it is, the easier the valve opens and closes to make the "wounded turkey" sound, lol. And the tighter it is, the harder it is to open, so the first escape there is, is very small, making that nice high-pitched whistle.
Correct? :]
Correct? :]
