Thanks For The Love

Last Friday I went up to the drag strip in NH for the first time and just wanted to say thanks to all the Boston EVO drivers that gave me good advice and helped me launch my stock MR to a 2.0 60ft and an 13.7 et at 102mph.

I know it could have been better, even stock, but it was a fun ride anyway and as Obi Wan said to Skywalker, "You've just taken your first step into a larger world." And I feel like I have.

So thanks for the support and for the positive energy.

Unhappy

Does a 2.0 60ft blow? All I know is that it was lower than the guy next to me. The rev limiter does hold me at 5000. I don't know, I pushed the thing and let out the thing and the thing did a thing and then 2.0. Sounded better than it is I guess.

2.0 is not that bad, but you should try to hit 1.8's

should hit 1.8... but it's all good, we know you have the 5000 rpm rev limiter.

i'd say the best thing is to not hold it on the rev limiter, feather it from like 3500/4k and just bring it up and tap the limiter for a second, then repeat cycle.. let me know when you guys go up again...

Wink

1.8 got it.

I'll let you know when we go up again, Wicked.

I also discovered that the car will go above the rev limiter on the first punch. In theory, if I timed it right I could punch it up to 6 or so, then dump and go. It would take the timing of a Ninja, but perhaps possible.

Reeeally.

I come from an oval track and road circuit family. This draggin' bizniss is new to me. I'm clearly getting conflicting opinions. All the EVO guys at the track said higher is better.

I feel like you know what you're talking about. Call it a hunch. Why is that a better number to aim for? Is it a power band thing or just a wear and tear thing?

your wrong. Im an idiot with WAAAAY too much free time and uses the search button frequently

I just feel that Mitsu may be sneakier than we imagine, maybe teaching us how to drive our own cars. You know? I mean it may be a long shot but maybe they did there own testing and found that 7k clutch drops not only killed the car but the time? so they install this limiter to limit breakage but all teach us all how to avoid wheel hop ? conspiracy theory here.

from what Ive read people like to get into the 1.7 -1.8 range on stock clutch . anything below that number needs aftermarket support (clutch and flywheel or just clutch)

but I could be wrong , dont really know for a fact seeing most of my info comes from everyone else input
