I still have this problem and I think it's starting to ruin my hood. I'm going in for the 10k service soon so hopefully they can fix it this time.

Damn it has anyone been able to fix this problem? It's getting so bad I can't even have a little bit of fluid in the tank because of I do, it squirts out every time I stop even a little. If I'm stopped pointed downhill, it dribbles out all over my hood. I think I'm just going to replace the windshield washer pump & hopefully that will fix it. Obviously it's getting past the pump when it shouldn't.

At about 10k miles the problem suddenly disappeared on my '05 RS. I have no idea why but it's been gone for about 3,500 miles now so I'm hoping it's permanent.

Up until steiner said it happened on his 05 RS I thought it was just another one of the quirks that the 03-04 Evo's had. I have yet to ever see this in my car.

This is not an uncommon problem not only with evos but with many other cars as well. Seems like there is like a valve that is supposed to prevent backflow is normally the culprit on most other cars. Not sure if there is one on the evo, but just trying to help.

No but I haven't noticed it in a while so either it stopped doing it or my washer fluid is low.

My car has had this problem from day 1. an in-line check valve would not solve this problem because the fluid is going in the proper direction when it squirts out. i just empty the damn thing when i know i'm going to be hard on the brakes a lot. sure is a hassle though, and just after i top off the tank it dribbles if i even tap the brakes.
