gains with turboback exhaust

I recently got a reflash for $200 which I am very happy with in terms of value for money and improved all round performance and driveability. Before going for a turbo back exhaust system I would be interested to have feedback from people out there on what kind of gains I could expect from this mod. How noticeable is the increased power and is there any sacrifice in for example low end power or general driveability or is it just gains all round. If anyone could point me to dynosheet which illustrates the difference that would be good too.

You will lose some low end torque due to the back-pressure loss but you will free up a lot more high end power. If you were thinking about getting a TBE you should have gotten the flash after!

the basic flash is good for intake , flash, etc.. just common bolt on mods.. no need for a reflash unless you go changing the inj, pump, cams.. ...

I think turboback exhaust is the first mod, and one of the best mods to do. On a turbo car, you want the least back pressure, and just straight flow. Running a test pipe would give you even greater gains. A flash/tune isnt neccassary, but it will give you a better gain.

Is this statement accurate. If so it kind of puts me off the idea of a TBE. I thought it was such a popular upgrade it was unlikely to have such a downside to it.

Don't listen to him. The turbo provides all the back pressure you ever need. Go 3" all the way back.

you will lose some low end torque, but you will gain torque in the long run. You are going to need a tbe eventually if you plan to do more mods, the tbe compliments other mods. Also plan on getting a boost controller if you dont already have one, if your getting a tbe, it sometimes tend to make boost spike.

i don't know what this means, but this is the spark plug with MBC set at 20 psi, TBE without cat.

lower your boost to stock levels until you get a flash

that would be your best bet until you get the $$$ for tuning

that's the best answer you could give me? Don't you say that answer for everything people ask?

"lower your boost and wait for someone to tune it to make it right"

really? gee... I've never thought about that answer before.

Dynoflash with boost control
Oh dear I'm getting some conflicting replies. Do I lose torque low down or don't I.?Could anyone who has had a TBE installed comment on before vs after impressions or post a dynosheet.
As far as reflashing before or after TBE Al (Dynoflash) says no need for a second reflash with just an exhaust mod.

You will lose a little in the low but the mid to top is very rewarding. Do the turboback and get a good unit.

rogerbslee:

I few weeks ago I got Al's dynoflash, I asked for the one that holds boost to redline. At that time I asked for only a K@N filter and a Buscher 3'' TBE. The car felt great after the reflash alone. After I got the TBE with a high flow cat and the magnaflow, the car feels ever faster. As far dealing with low-end torque, I have to disagree. I feel my car has never been stronger. I can make my rear wheels step out with a lot less effort now. I have no dyno to prove my point, however I don't think you are going to be disappointed.

Take care,
