behind the desk at mitsu
behind the desk at mitsu
i work for mitsubishi in concord, ca... before i get to the good stuff, i'd just like to get something out of the way, dont hate me because i mark up the most awaited mitsubishi since the vr-4 hit america, a few thousand dollars while its hot. personally im sick of selling under powered, single over head cam cars for my cost and then getting heat from mitsubishi on the months we dont hit our objective when i sell financing and oppurtunity rather than a good product... dont be so quick to be enangered with the reasonable dealers, we put forth the effort to get mitsu to the point that they could make this venture, you sat at home and criticized us, anyway, now for the good stuff....
i own a 12 second 98 eclipse gsx, and my comuter is 13 second 92 galant vr-4 -335/1000-, and as an owner and hands on modifier, i hope youll agree on the validity of my words.....
with my upgraded clutch on the eclipse, at 6000 rpms, dumping the clutch will spin the tires on almost any surface, mind you car and driver very specifically wrote -est-, not that that hasn't already been clarified, and i have a turbo not so disimilar to the evolution's twin scroll 16g unit, buy yourself a 250 dollar downpipe that im sure www.roadraceengineering.com will offer, and either a. a boost controller to try and further maintain boost in the higher rpms, or b. see if www.vishnutuning.com can flash and remap your ecu like they do on wrxs which gain every car they work on, a hp increase from '227' at the motor to 260 -dont take my word for it, look at the dyno charts, ive never done anything to my ecu but if i had known it was that easy.....- , for 650-750 dollars, and youll be running high 12's in our little amigo known as sr. evo here too....
you must understand that there are 3 evo buyers, those that buy it and drive it, those that do a few fun upgrades, and those that are going to make these cars nearly unbeatable, remember gentleman -and you ladies with good taste too-, you are either purchasing great all around performance and functionality for your money, or you are buying potential, so let your opinions and assumptions be no more than just that, and dont get ahead of yourselves, i hope youre as excited as i am for this super sedan...
don't neglect to realize, your friends with subaru's and cobras won't be doing much modifying theirselves, those engine bays and undercarriages are congested and inefficient, be proud that you aren't throwing away unecesary dollars to pay for elongated installation fees and such, dan
by the way, i just had 2 evos come available because of the nine i had reserved, 1 gentleman -black evo no roof- ran into financial problems, and another didnt want yellow and is paying 8000 over at another dealer to get a blue one which i also have at the beginning of march, but he couldnt wait, haha, tell me if anyone is interested, im a lot easier to work with than the typical car salesman as i have a passion for the vehicle, not just the money....

hmm... this gets a bit tricky, i cant tell you all the goodies i heard in my meeting in la before the autoshow and evo debut, but its an all new design, looks amazing.... very nicely restyled, better suspension, and i supposedly a 2.4 mivec 160 horsepower or so... shh
hmm, sort of, but its really an all new look to be honest, nothing like the existing oz rally which is more like the 7 obviously, the new one is rounder like the 8 i guess, i only saw it for a second on a projector though so i cant remember too well

that doesnt remain to be seen, ive sat in it, looked around under the hood, i was flown down to the la auto show in a leer jet, and if you read my first post, im experience in these things, this car is way easier to work out than an v8 or a flat 4, this isnt rocket science bud, space and layout are as simple as circles and squares, this car is way easier to work on than any vehicle with similar power........
