I got 5.3% on a used 03 through a mitsubishi dealership that picked it up at bank of america. Considering i just graduated college a week earlier i felt this was a pretty good deal.

read! dont get fcked!

dosent matter which car dealership/company!
if they can bend you over and sink it deep they will!
too many people get caught up in loving the car and end up in fiscal problems and thus fckin their future!
just like how you shop for parts; people need to shop for the car and then shop the financing differently! i have said it enough!!!!!! dealers like bending you over!
it never hurt to shop rates! i say always get the following rates/offers in this order!
  1. credit union-they wont take you for a ride and are there to help you
  2. your local bank especially if you always have over 2g's in an account there-while they may take you for a ride they will suggest more options
  3. the dealership-at first they will try to bend you over. but lets face it; by now you will know where you stand and either know if you can get the vehicle and your potential rates so they wont be able to give you the run around. And they will see on your CR report that your credit has been pulled by the avove places and will cut to the chase and most likely give you their best rate!
Nobody said it was easy, but it saves money! Option 1 & 2 gives you the option of telling them you can take them a check for the car or they can try to match the rate!
When I sold hondas we used to but rape people on finance! Hell some times they qualified for 5% and we made it seem like we could bearly get them qualified for 8%. On a $25000 honda you do the math of what the customer paid in finances!

How do you think the finance guy makes his money?
Hell lojack, etch, warranty etc dont add up! They pad the rates hats how! So when they tell you they dont make commision off the rates they are fckin telling a big lie!
A dealer got a friend of mine for 9%! When he told me his low rate i shared mine! Need i say he got fcked! Now he is at a credit union with 6.5%!

Holy crap, 16%?!?!? My interest rate through the dealership was 12.5% when I bought my EVO and I thought that was bad. I refinanced at my credit union at 5.9% after I sold my other car and my payments went from $799 to $502.

Definitely try to refi... 16% is horrible!
