What would you do?

By the time the IX comes out, which I would like to own, I will have roughly $16,000 to do whatever with such as put some down, save some for mods, save some for whatever. I have made a list of performace items I would like to buy after I break the car in which totals about $5000 w/ installation. I also would like to put $2500 towards insurance right away so I don't have to worry about that for awhile. But after all that, it leaves me with only $8500 down. For all I know the IX will be fast as **** to me since my car is a 94 accord or maybe not and I will want more, I have no idea. What is more important or which would you rather do. Put more money down and save money for mods gradually or have higher car payments with some upper 3 hundreds in numbers for whp?

I'd quit worrying about something that is so far away :P

Ditto on putting it towards the car. Worst case: you put less down have higher payments.. then the mods u got voids the warrenty.

Yea it will save me money and I do want the car SOOO bad. Its just between the monthly payments and insurance if I use all the money towards the dp it will take me awhile to save up for the mods. Using the figures of my money, my payments would be about 270 a month if I put it all down plus I would prolly pay about 300 for insurance. Then there is gas and whatever else comes along I need money for. And I probably make like 750 a month during school. Not to much extra money I have laying around for mods so I wasn't sure if I should just get the car and wait a long time for mods when I eventually get money or but the IX this time next year and have the money right away.

Assuming you save your money...put it into your down payment and get used to driving the evo first than mod later, when it feels slow you won't loss as much money on interest that way.

How do you have a list of mods already? There aren't any (or aren't many) mods for the 9 out, and we have no clue what sort of mods are gonna come out (or how many will fit on it from the 8)... put it as the full dp, wait awhile to see what mods come out for the 9

By the time the warranty is gone, I will prolly have a new car. Doubt I would have the IX for 10 years.

I know there isn't anything out at the moment. But its an Evo. They have to come out with things. Isn't THAT huge of a difference in the motor.

That's what I'd do as well. Use the money you saved to have some fun.
