your best all around midsize turbo would be the HKS gt2835. a little larger than stock but spools faster if tuned right...
i say save yourself about $800. buy a 10.5 hotside and ported or new o2 housing. for the price of this mod you almost get what you would out of the $1200 tme. with that $800 left over buy alcohol injection and take your girl out to eat.
the first question to ask him is what year is his evo
for an 05 its definitely not worth doing it since you already have a bigger comp housing as with the 03-04 who has the smaller housing.

The TME will have a little less power up top but you will only notice this if you try to push your HP limits. If you have an exhaust with little mods you will find that the stock and the TME turbo will put out about the same HP up top.
Whats the difference? Low and midrange power and torque. The TME turbo is the right size turbo for our cars IMO. You will not even think its a turbocharged car when its idling because it idles a lot smoother. The power delivery is so smooth and quick since it spools faster because the turbo is smaller and it has a titanum wheel. The throttle response is incredible.
If you are a driver who would like to have fun driving the car around cities and highways without going over 80-100 MPH (who can with all the cops floating around) then this turbo is for you. If you wanna go 1/4 mile then you might be better of geting a bigger turbo.
