This is the second time i was in turbocharged car, its scary as hell, but i love it.

I had a gs300 which got totalled, so I upgraded to a gs430. I also have an 05 evo. If you are used to your gs300 and you do a lot of driving, the evo can get to you. The ride is quite rough. I personally do not mind the ride at all, but I just want to set your expectation. Also, the gs300 was not quick off the line, but when flooring it while cruising, the pickup was pretty damn good.
Here is a pic of my 430. You may not want to sell your 300

i dont know man, i mean if you got a need for speed get the evo, but i mean if you got a new gs i would keep with that. considering its a big luxury and it rides smooth. all on you though.

I can't have two cars now, I like my GS but its fast enough from a stop. from a roll is not that bad. How is the gs 430? gas milage? and acceleration from a stop?

You guys are saying that the evo is rough, i know cause i have an 93 mazda mx6 sitting on tokico 5 way adjustables, and its rough i know. But was thinking of getting the new evo ix mr<--which supposedly has softer suspension than regular gsr? is there a big difference? thanks guys

MR comes with the Bilstein shocks which gives a softer feel, but you're not losing performance.

I am looking forward to the evo IX MR<--which suppose to be here in september, yesevo---thanks for the ride, i really appreciate it.
haha! i took my friend in the Evo, first time he was in a turbo and he was grabbing for the handle...I was only going like 60% the max potential on the accel...

first day I took the Evo into full boost, I scared myself b/c of the slight lag...not really scared, more surprised and impressed, but afterwards...i described it as one of the best feelings in the world...now I'm just waiting for boost to come on and expect it and think the boost is quite tame and slow.

I drove my friend's MR 275 miles from Ft. LAuderdale to TAmpa. While it's true that the shocks are sprung slightly softer than the regular VIII, it is still a rough ride compared to the GS300.

I get 19 mpg average on the gs430.
The only engine mods that I have on the gS430 is a Supra rear end (shorter gear), .
0-60 average is 5.2
1/4 mile 13.6-13.9

The shorter rear end alone drops the 0-60 and 1/4-mile times by more than half a second? I'd have to see it....

Yeah, it's a lot more forgiving and is a bit softer. I thought this was a well known fact...?

0.5?

13.9 - 13.6 = 0.3

Rear end gives it 12-15% more power. Here are all the mods I have

Eibach Springs
Ltuned Shocks
Daizen Sway Bars
Tom's Rear Brace
19" Staggered Wheels with Michelin Pilot Tires
TRD Strut Bar
RMM Rear Diff with LSD
Apexi Ground Kit
Borla Exhaust
SRT Intake with race ECU

Uh, no, I mean from stock, which is 5.8 0-60 and 14.3 1/4-mile on the GS430. You claim to do 5.2 0-60 (.6 quicker) and 13.6-13.9 (.4-.7 quicker) with just the shorter gears. Like I said, I'd have to see it. Rear ends don't "give" any power...all they do is concentrate it into different power bands. If this rear end concentrates more power into the lower gears, then that would cause even more tire spin from a launch and in 2nd gear making it even tougher to run a good 0-60 and/or 1/4-mile.

1) You are right about rear ends not adding power, but it does shift the powerband further down the rpm range in all gears, the obvious disadvantage is having a lower top speed.

2) The amount of wheelspin depends on the gear ratio selected. It also depends on whether any electronic aids are activated. With the LSD and 3.76, I dont have much at all.

3) The rear end is not my only mod.

4) 13.9 was my baseline stock with my g-tech pro. 13.6 was what it dropped to with exhaust (no cat), intake, ECU, and gears. Hence 0.3 difference. The suspension and rear brace obviously aids in lauching the car. I could in hindsight have made this clearer, but I was just trying to pen off a quick reply (see where that got me...)

5) Like you said, you have to see it.
