300hp Tuning Cost?

Check out the evo 7 stage tunning. Seem very basic mods to get the power up. Our evo 8 will probably be similar and i'm guess the computer is what's holding us back. We just need JDM mapping with less aggressive timing from fuel.

Every boost controller, whether it be a manual or an electronic, must be tuned in some way.
ALSO, every boost controller must be tuned in at least 3rd gear or higher. This does not mean that the controllers are defective. The boost the engine receives in 1st and 2nd gear will ALWAYS be different than 3rd and beyond if you have more than 250 hp. Even if you bought the most expensive boost controller in the world, you could not get consistant boost in every gear at high psi levels.
THIS IS THE REASON!!
If you have a large turbo set at 22 psi, you will notice that the highest boost level you will get in 1st gear is around 14-15 psi. 2nd gear you might get it up to 19 psi, and finally 3rd - 5th gear you will boost the desired 22 psi. The reason is because the RPM fly up so quickly in 1st and 2nd, that the turbo has no time to get to full boost. Once again in 2nd, redline gets there so quickly that it only had time to get to around 19 psi. 3rd gear is a nice long gear so that you have enough time to get that turbo spinning to 22 psi.
You could even plug the wastegate completely and still not get full boost in 1st and 2nd no matter how hard you try. There are benifits to both manual and electronic, but the downside of the expensive electronic boost controller are not the inconsistant boost levels between gears. 3rd - 5th are always rock solid boost control with the electronic unit. If you are complaining about spikes in boost, you better blame your restrictive wastegate that you are using.

where does all this stuff go
without making your evo dash look like the flight deck of the shuttle.....Turbo Timers,Boost controlers, exhaust gas temprature guages, boost gauges, AF ratio gauges, fuel pressure guages, G-Tech pro, Radar detector....have I missed anything?.....could someone tell me just the essentials...after all I would prefer it if my evo remained a 5 seater........

Jeff and Claudius, I think we agree for the most part... Jeff brought up a good point on the waste gate issue... through out my various set-ups the manual was by far the most reliable and best functioning compared to the electronics I tried/used... however, with my latest set-up it would be interesting to see how an electronic would compare to my current manual BC... the waste gate is not an issue these days

If you get the parts from Ralliart, Mitsu's rally-division, then your warranty covers up to 330 HP.
i work for a dealership that sells mitsus, and that's what they've told us
