Finally, I have an evo!
Finally, I have an evo!
Well, today i flew down to San Antonio where Da Shon Bacon from West Loop Mitsubishi picked me up at the airport. We got to the dealership and he immeditately asked if I wanted to go for a test drive. I said sounds good, and sat in the passenger seat. Then he says, "No, no, no, you drive." I was suprised that he was actually letting me drive it after reading all those "My dealership refused a test drive" posts (BTW I am 16). So we took it on the highway, and all I have to say is, amazing. I knew that I made the right choice on the Evo. We get back to the dealership and we talk about some things. I noticed that the Evo had a blue mitsu shift knob and wheel locks. We went inside to start doing the paperwork. He made me a great deal of $28,300, which if why I flew down there in the first place. We started talking about the shift knob/wheel lock prices and I end up saying no to them. Then he just says. "You know what, I'll just give them to you." So i just say, "hmmm Ok...cool" We finish with the papers, they prepped my car and sent me on my way. I wasn't looking foward to the 5 hour drive home, but once I started, I knew it wasn't going to be that bad. I was amazed by how many "ricey" civics and mustangs would just tail my bumper, then turn and fly past me...I just laughed everytime. The only insteresting thing that happened on the way home was looking in my rear view mirror and seeing a new 2005 STi. He pulls up next to me and smiles and says, "Badass car." So I say, "You too." We play around for a bit before he gets on his exit and gives me a friendly thumbs up. The EB Evo is a HUGE jump from an RSX, so I know I will have a lot of fun. If anyone is thinking about buying a car and lives in San Antonio, give Da Shon a call, he's a good guy, he will give you a good price.

Congrats on having a dad willing to buy you a world-class rally car at the age of 16.
Enjoy every minute of it, but do your best to be careful and not make your dad regret it.
I know what you mean, I should have worded my story differently
.
I won't. I not a dumbass that thinks he can go as fast as he wants down a street and get into a situation. I respect the Evo, and I know what it can do. So I am not taking any chances with it.

Welcome to the Evo family. Please drive carefully. An autocross would be great for you to get the experience of the car at it's limits dont try them on the street. I only say this because I know I would have killed myself if I had an Evo at 16 years old. Best of Luck to you! You are one lucky 16 yr old by the way to own a Brand new Evo.
