That Evo held its own pretty well against the Camaro. That was a fast Camaro. But it was a stripped down car (very light). 412 CI motor with a huge 300 shot of NOS. The Evo also ran him from a roll, to a high mph, that is where the Evo has the least advantage as a drag racer.

Have them run from a dig and make the Camaro run on drag radials. Then see what happens.

BTW, Buschurs 8 second Talon would destroy that Camaro. It wouldnt even be close.

i love how you jokers talk about the evo being the end-all, say-all of draging lol longevity is another important feature to what you have all classified as a "street car" how long do you think that transfer case/tranny is going to last vs a 700r4 or a TH300? From what ive read, maybe another year lol

just a side note, everyone complaining that the camaro isn't street legal, so is the Evo street legal???? Pretty sure that setup well at least in cali isn't street legal, bottom line, no excuses if you decide to race . . . both cars are nice though.

Your kidding, right? A 700R4 and a what? TH300. You mean the TH400 or even the TH350. No one runs the 700R4 except the cruisers. It's super heavy (4 speed auto) and cannot handle extreme hp/tq. 90% of high hp drag cars (not including the Lenco, Jerico, etc.) uses a built 2-speed powerglide or TH400. The smaller TH350 works well on most applications of lower tq. vs the TH400. I ran a TH400 on my 900 hp DFI BB Camaro with 400hp Nitrous jets.

Evo should have raced from a dig even with the Camaro's slicks. It also looks like the Camaro had a big jump.
