Early model 03's : Clutch and Mileage
It definatly is how you drive it in my eyes. I think that a stock Evo if you drive it normal you will get a lot of mileage out of it.
Like me I got 25k easy then I decided to get a stronger ACT because of future upgrades. I started beating the hell out of it launching all the time ect, (getting in some start practices) and it started to go fast, probably within 3k miles I destroyed it pretty much.

Mar 2003, 32k, original clutch
No power mods other than catback and a K&N filter. Lots of hard autocross launches though and the mileage is almost all Northern VA/DC traffic (yuck).
Holds fine, but it doesn't take much slipping to make it stink...

Wow guys, thanks for all the great responses. Like I said, I'm 28,5k miles and my stock clutch is still running just as strong as when I got'er.
Wonder if I should start a thread about brakes and replacement.

36,000 miles, stock clutch. Numerious drag passes with 4500k rpm drops. Clutch making noise now at idle... but still grabs very strong, i'm pretty sure it's the throwout bearing.
