03-04 EVO's: Replaced your brakes yet??
03-04 EVO's: Replaced your brakes yet??
To go along with the thread, here, I was just wondering how many of you have gotten new brakes, what type of setup did you use to replace your stock stuff, and around what mileage?
Replaced stock pads at approximately 15k miles. Had a few, ahem, spirited miles on them. They were originally replaced with HP+'s F&R, but decided they were a bit too noisy for my daily driving. Replaced those (maybe 200 miles on them) with Project U(Mu) pads, and although I seem to recall liking the stock pads much better, I really enjoy not having brake dust everywhere after 50 miles of cleaning the wheels.

STILL rolling on the stock rotors. Replaced all the pads @ 26k miles with a set of used stock pads... they lasted a whopping 4k more miles, then picked up an el cheapo set of Hawks at 30k. Up to 36.7k now. Rotors are still solid, no warping amazingly, and I don't use these things lightly.
I have 47K miles on my '03 and I'm on my 4th set of pads. Rotors are great, never replaced/refinished and never warped even after track & autocross use. The fronts are a little thinner but there is still plenty of disk left.
First I replaced stock with stock & they really don't last long & they are too expensive. Next was Ferodo DS2500. I really liked them but kind of expensive. Now I have Hawk HPS on the front and still the DS2500s on the back. They seem alright but I don't know how they'll hold up on HPDE days. If they hold up as good as the Ferodos I'll keep them, otherwise I'm going back to Ferodos. I really liked them.

i replaced my fronts at 18k and the rears at about 19.5k. i used ferrodo ds2500 for the front and rears. i like them.
a good friend of mine has almost 24k on his car and he is still on his stock pads, but he takes it easy on his car.

FWIW I haven't done any track/DE driving on these pads, so I can't vouch for that kind of use. But hard/long stops around town etc. they seem to do very well.
i have 18k miles and im on my 3rd set.. stock, then ferrodo ds 2500 then ds 3000 which i am using now. at my last track day i warped my front rotors. But i must say that the ds 3000s are bad ***.. and they resist fade way better than stock and the ds 2500s.. the only issue i have with them is they HOWL.. almost to the point of driving me insane for street use... plus people think my car is broken!!
replaced front rotors, pads, lines and fluid at 22k. Slotted front rotors, hawk hps pads, ss brake lines, and motul fluid. I left the stock rotors and pads in back. Also this was done 2 days ago.
Got me some slotted rotors, SS brake lines, DS2500 pads. The stock rotors I had problems with since 10k miles with warping. I dont even really drive hard just here and there fooling around but mostly I do daily easy driving. The DS2500's were noisy at first but once i got slotted rotors that went away.
Replaced the pads at around 18k with the DS2500
