i look at it like this. this EVO will be my daily driver even though i plan on keeping my jetta for when i am working on the EVO. i will be doing autoX, drag, street racing, and god know what else with it. There in lies the beauty of the EVO. It can do whatever you want and do it well. As for your boys i wouldn't sweat it, cause when you go out cruising they are going to want to ride in your EVO not their tricked out civics. you know, to get the ladies!!!!

 

What the hell makes a crx such a bad auto-x car? With proper suspension it doesn't do poorly at the circuit at all.

The crx wasn't setup for great handling, but the evo was.

Keep that in mind as well.

That's not necessarily so... Drag racing is a lot about the driver too, I'm not such a hot driver and my 1/4 mile times show it I've seen guys who can get 13s consistently from cars that other drivers can only get 14's! That's right, the same car can be a full second faster or slower in a 1/4 mile depending on the driver.
It's no different than autoxing or track racing. It's all about the driver, however that does not mean that only good drivers can enjoy the ownership and use of a fine car... The EVO is great, I've got mine and I'm already modding it...

yeah I feel the same too, My older brother friend with a 350Z is always wanting to race and after I did and also beat him he like wait til the Greddy turbo come out

 

***update*** my buddys CRX recently had a t3 turbo installed on it, but it cant go above 5000rpm's and is slower than before the turbo, but doesnt have the IC hooked up. Regardless, you have to love a turbo honda.

Whats there to love.....if anything he spent $3000 to make it worse, not better.

Seeing as you can never get all CRX's around to die and go to junkyards because people refuse to give up on them even when the axles fall off, they are held together by rust, or have more dents that a garbage can.....they are affectionately known in Toronto as Cockroach Cars or simply the CockRoachX as the slang version goes.

If any one has even ever bothered to go to watch an Autox even they would notice that the cars that are putting up the quickest numbers are not from things like WRX which is in the same class as a EVO8. HAve yet to really see an EVO8 run the course but things like Mustangs and Miatas will just out handle the EVO. Also Autox is more about driving skill because someone with a less hp car can beat something with twice the horsepower.

 

Mustangs do well at autocrosses?
