Who needs a tow? AAA will fix your flat right there.

Or you could get those run flat tires.

My plans are similar but i would add Apexi Turbo Timer to that list of first mods.

does anyone know if putting the battery in the back would help the lancer-fwd version handle better, but it might make it harder to take off too because there would be less weight over the front wheels so more spinning

I will be making a kit for the EVO once I can R&D mine. I did my own relocation kit for my Galant. I want to make something that is clean and bolt in though, so I need to see where it would work well first. I would likely use an odyssey 925 battery which weighs only 24 lbs.

It would help the handling characteristics, but yes, it would increase your wheel spin a bit on acceleration.

I am going to take the spare out, so there will be nothing to "repair" a flat with unless it is just a puncture. Roadside assistance is going to laugh when you tell them you have a flat and no spare and therefore need a tow. I did this twice in my M3 with triple A (flatbed to my house, where I then put on the spare myself) and no problems.

BTW, runflats suck IMO.

Maybe I could just get rid of the battery and always park on hills. HRMMM....

Well I was going under the assumption of the flat BEING due to a puncture, whichi is 90% of the reasons for getting a flat. Roadside assistance can fix a puncture in like 2 minutes.

hmmmmm so how much do you guys think this (no spare, batt relocation) would help with the (rumored?) understeer?

Every little bit counts and while not making a drastic difference, I'm sure it would still be slightly noticeable. Not like it's that big of an operation either so added together with everything else being done to bring the understeer in check, it's a pretty realistic goal.
