It's gonna get worse before it gets better. Well, if it gets better.

^ $4.8 billion lost in a quarter? That doesn't spell financial failure or anything...

Anyhow this thread is merely a means of information availability, let's not get into the "mitsu will survive this despite the ridiculously obvious facts" discussion.

You need to see the total financial picture not just the losses before opinons can be validated!

Read up on Japanese economics. The long and short issue of this is that they will continue to be bailed out by their parent companies in the Mitsubishi Group, or by the government. For a large company like MMJ to go under would be a huge disgrace in Japan's eyes.

I've seen all of that but I just won't believe it til it happens I guess.

I don't really care about MMJ, I'm thinking MMNA will be yanked/cancelled at some point though. Believe me there's no one here who wants them to make it more than I do...

I disagree. The new 06 Eclipse looks pretty good and should sell well. Nissan was in the same boat not too long ago (Actually a bit worse off) and pulled themselves out. They also have the Raider coming out, and the Galant Ralliart as a last ditch effort.

The guys at my dealership said they are counting on the eclipse and the pick up to help pull them out of the hole. I'm thinking it will take more than a pickup to pull them out of a multi billion dollar hole though. That thing must have God's own torque curve to do that. LOL

until you see it, like the airline industry? does it have to happen to something you own for you to see it? companies operate at a loss for years all the time Sirius, XM, to name a couple more. also keep in mind that soemtimes it costs more money for a company to close then it would to keep them running. maybe mitsu in america increases overall mitsu sales in other countries. maybe they assign certain cost to MMNA that make it look worse then it is. there are a number of factors that we do not know. what we do know is they are still around and if mitsu didn't think they would make this money back they would have closed it awhile ago.

My apologies it was 4.8 billion lost for a 12-mo period ended March 2005. I think.
