Race..at the strip..Camaro vs MyEvo

So this guy wants to run my car at the strip 1/4. He ran 13.8 he said on bald tires and a friend told me he has headers(long tubes, cold air, slp something?? and he has it tuned 6 speed, throttle, 94 LT1 engine, and it has alot of miles.

My car is all stock. lol. You think i should race him at teh strip or save the embarassment.

Are you racing for $$$? If not, then just race him already and quit asking!!! Your car is certainly capable of winning it, but who knows how good of a driver you are? That will make all the difference.

If you don't have confidence in your car or driving skills, you won't win.

If it's not for money, why not race?

If you lose, big deal, go get some mods and then try again.

If your going to race him and you don't want to take the chance of losing prepare for it. Get a tb exhaust and a flash. Take your spare tire and jack out, and race with a 1/4 tank so you can save as much weight as possible. Oh yeah, practice.

practice practice practice... and like they said just go for.. nothing gain nothing lost. if you lose and he is a crappy driver then u have some work to do besides getting mods put on. good luck.

most people that have never run a 1/4" before are typically around 14.4. if you are a good driver you should hang, if you are a great driver you might win but i doubt it. go for it anyway... its all in good fun right?

hmm i think u could take him, what kinda camaro is this? its gotta be a V6 or somethings cuz thats pretty slow with all those mods AND slicks. Well just to boost ur confidence, buy a MBC for liek $50-80 (AMS, Buschur, Turbosmart, etc..) and raise the boost depending on what octane of gas ur using and it'll improve the pull on ur car a LOT. I suggest about 20-21 all the way to redline will do good.

I've been wondering lately, what would win in 0-60/quarter mile. A stock v8 90's camaro, or a stock Evo 8. A friend of mine has a pair of Camaros (big on American cars). So I'd love to see the expression on his face if I could whip him in a Japanese 4-banger.

wouldnt bald tires, help him go faster. the only reason bald tires are bad are because if there is anything that gets under the tires will cause the tires to lose traction. the benifit for them is that they have a larger footprint, meaning that if the conditions are good (like at a track) they bite well! a 13.8 is pretty darn slow, heck i nearly did that in my stock neon (13.9 BABY!!!!!!) there is no reason you cant beat that, i hope not atleast.

=P With an SRT-4 no doubt. A *real* stock Neon would probably do it in... oh... *tap tap tap*.... well, just get a cup of coffee and come back.... maybe it will have finished by then...
