I use either Mobil 1 10-30 or Royal Purple 10-30. Both are good oils, used to run Royal Purple or Motul in my bikes, good stuff.

Holy crap you guys, calm down... have a beer!

I'm running Mobil1 either 5w30 or 10w30. Walmart sells it in 5 quart jugs for $17-$20 each. With a filter and a DIY job, you can change your oil for right around $25.

damn if i cant spell. I have to go to co log to get my diplomat.

so anyways, the castrol is good? I have used mobil uno simply because I read that it is truly the only 100% synthetic oil available around 5 bucks a quart.

It's just as stupid to think that just becuase you pay more for something is HAS to be better. We're just not convinced that paying $80 for one brand of fully-synthetic oil is better than paying $25 for another brand of fully-synthetic oil.

If you change your oil regularly (say, every 3K miles) and use ANY high-quality fully-synthetic oil...I find it hard to believe you'll see a HUGE difference in engine longevity or performance.

Please show us some evidence that Mobil 1, Amsoil, Motul, Royal Purple, Lubro Moly Voll-Synthese, or Neo Synthetic is going to make a huge difference over the course of a typical owners life.

Quite a few of these "boutique" brands sell for well over $10 or even $15 per liter. That $80 figure comes from this quote earlier in this thread:

Dude, seriously....put whatever you want in your car......you're makin the payments.

Nobody said it's gonna make a HUGE difference over the live of your car. Im not saying that using GC over Mobil 1 is gonna give you 500,000 extra miles on your engine. But the whole purpose of geting into high performance is doing little thing here and there to make your car better. Switching your stock hood with a carbon fiber hood isn't going to make a HUGE difference in your car's weight. But replacing the hood, along with other little things here and there can drop some significate weight in your car. If you're asking for a cure all to make your car last for the next 50 years, and never skip a beat...I don't have it for you. Those of us who were talking about using GC were just passing along some useful knowledge that someone passed on to us. Instead of blasting on someone...perhaps you should try doing your own homework and looking into the data collected after running tests on the different types of synthetics out there.

But what do I know anyway.......Now enough of the drama over who's using what and who's right and wrong. Let's get back to what's important.....gettin some good info on our Evo! Cool?

I'd enjoy my time better if people wouldn't call me out and make a big deal over what oil I choose to use. All I did was quote what someone said that I agreed on and I get picked on.

Well, wont be the first time my posts were deleted in self defense, probably wont be the last.
