Downpayment Amount?

I tried searching but I could not find what I was looking for. Maybe I just missed it, anyways...

I'm looking into buyign an Evo. May not be for a few years but I wanted to see how much people put down and what there payments are.

My goal is to have $10,000 downpayment plus my trade-in('03 Lancer ES) unless I sell on side.

How much you put down and your payments. Thanks

Looks like you are in a similiar boat as me man.

We're both selling all the stuff we possibly can laying around, and both saving for 10k cash + trade in for an Evo IX.

Pretty cool, wish you luck =)

Well my situation is a bit unique -- I had 6 grand put down, but the dealership goofed on a previous deal so they cut me more off the final price. I owe 350/month.

estimating $35,000 purchase price (what kind of EVO?)
10 grand down
5 grand for your trade (worst case scenario)
decent credit should get you 4.9% (or less)

with CA sales tax your payments will be roughly:
$370/mo. for 60 months
or
$320/mo. for 72 months

with NJ sales tax and possibly better prices all around, you're lookin' at roughly $250-$300 a month i'd guess.

all rough estimates, but at least you got a few numbers to chew on.

the longer the length of the loan the higher the interest rate...around here atleast so like 72months the lowest you can find on an auto loan is like 6%.

nonono cutie mamma jamma with a cherry on top well yeah, i guess the area might matter...

at a dealership you can get 4.9% for 72 months, but that would mean the dealership is only making 1% off of you, if that... and they might not even give it to you unless you buy a warranty off of 'em or have donald trump negotiating skills.

if you try your own bank though, you might even be able to get lower. i've seen 3.9% for 72 months some places depending on what kind of relationship you have with them. it's all about who you know... there are some people swindling 3% for 84 months because they're managers at the bank. damn bastards.

that's how it was last year, but i don't know, things may have changed...

I wanted to buy a used LanEvoVIII (final price with tax/dealership fee was 27k) with perfect credit and about 7k down. He gave me a quote of about $400/month (which I thought was reasonable) then said 'let me go talk to my manager about this' and comes back.... 'sory about that. its going to be about $530/month' (for 60 months). When I stormed into the managers office to have him explain to me why the jump in price he gave me no straight answer and I just turned on my heal and left while he was still BSing me
