its a very good idea. I often think of bringing my tools with me especially since i have been driving my car a lot lately (1200 miles the past week and a half) . Of course i am only making like 610 crank hp with 93 octane and alky/water injection for daily use so its not really pushing the setup anyway....lol.

Its the same stuff I'd take to the track so I keep that crap with me all the time. I also have two of those "tent chairs" that fold up since there's times you want to sit down, or let your passengers sit while your fixing something your sorry *** broke..

Oh, and don't forget to bring a cheap one of those "One time use" Cameras with the film, its invaluable if oyu get into an accident or blast a wheel in a pothole and need evidence in your favor. I have a camera with me all the time anyway, but its a backup.

I've had several issues where something stupid disabled my car, and those were the things I found I used most frequently to fix stupid little problems
+the kitchen sink!!
J/K, lol

Single use cameras .. $8 totally worth it. I've had to use mine and take the pictures to court when someone tried to hit-n-run me. Got pictures of the plates as she drove away. Even if you have a camera phone.. the little money is worth it for the better quality of 35 mm (= approx 11-16 mp?).

Other tools: a leatherman. Mini mag light. Tape (electrical or duct), some spare fuses. Used to carry an MRE in the trunk of my old car for those unknown winter days, but with the Evo and snow tires, that's less of an unknown. I've been considering a small alumnimun pipe to use for leverage instead of a breaker bar-- those things are so heavy.

The problem is our Evo's have a VERY cheesy felt "carpet" (if you can call it that) that's laid over a smooth sheet of fiberboard. The carpet itself slides over the board, so nothing stays put

I had no problem keeping tools in my trunk with any of my BMW's...but it's a major PITA in the Evo.

I never leave home without my tool ; I also keep a small metric set with some screw drivers as well as a Gorilla bar for taking off a wheel in the trunk.
