127 in a 50?

Dude, after I read that, you deserve the ticket. That is beyond reckless, the cop must have a thing for imports to take off 37mph.

P.S. Did you atleast win?

Honestly I don't think a lawyer is gong to do you much good. I wouldn't think by paying 500 bucks the judge is gonna say "OK yer free to go". that judge is thinking "if I let this guy go with just a heafty fine then he's gonn go back out and do it again. Let's make this guy pay a bigger price so he can learn a lesson. Yank his license and put the maximum ammount of points on." If he let's you go with a fine then it's like allowing you to go out, do it again and next time kill someone. With the time you have without a license the judge is more confident that you will have learned a huge lesson and not do that again. 1 year without your license can sober a person up quick for even thinking about street racing.

It brings me memories when I got my ticket doing 148 in a 70mph , off course it wasn't here, it was in the UK when I was stationed in RAF Lakenheath with the USAF.

I was basiclly racing a bunch or sports bikes which I passed them all with my 91 modified Stealth R/T Twin turbo.

I had to go to the court of summons at Bury ST edmunds, I got my license suspended for 8 weeks and I had to pay 335 british pounds (that was 6 June 2000).

The worst part was my military punishment, my commander impounded my car for 7 days in the military compund storage. He made me walk to work for a long period of weeks. I got 4 letter of counselings from : judge advocate,Squadron Commander, First Sergeant and my direct supervision.

The paperwork generated by the USAF followed me for quite a bit , a speeding ticket of this caliper can ruin your military carreer for a long time.

My suggestion is that whenevere you go and see the judge you are simple and honest and always make the point that you are broke and humble. Don't be afarid to ask for a reduction of the penalty, this is your last chance to reduce your penalty.

Good luck!!

it's douche bags like you that give import tuners and racers a bad name. Everyone that owns a sports car( import or domestic) at some point wants to push it to it's limits and test it out. I mean i know i didn't buy an evo for the gas mileage. The point is that everyone thats reading your comment here is thinking about the stupidity of your dubious actions. Infact there not dubious at all, infact we all know that they were intentional, and you have no spine, so you won't admit you were being a ***ing moron and you got busted. But then again your 16, i suppose we can't really expect anymore from you.

I was busted too for "street racing." this was before i starting going ot the (organized stuff) street races. I was clocked at 72 in a 45. Im not really sure how fast i was going, but i kept saying the fastest i went was 65 and that i wasn't racing. I told the cop i was out to have some fun, ( bad idea btw w/o giving an explination ) i added in that the other guy had given me the finger and i was trying o catch up to see what the problem was... that and give it back. The cop gave me a speech about if i was racing it would be impound lot for the car and jail for me. he went to his car and came back. He told my court date, gave me my ticket, told me the fine, asked if i understood, paused, looked in the car, asked if i had a six pack sitting on my seat... My eyes got huge, O ****.. ( i was 16 at the time this happened 1 year ago ) I did have a six pack in the passanger seat, luckly it was a six pack of Yohoo. the best chocolatly drink there is.. he then asked if i had any other questions about court, the charge, etc. I said no, he said well alright, u have a good nite, and tell your buddy he got lucky. ( lol it was one of my best friends ) we weren't actually racing tho. I sped up to 45 to catch him, then he went to 50 sumthing, i followed... that was got us in trouble. o well.

Lawyer down the street brought me a deferal the next day, cost me 215 bucks but no court, no loss of car or liecense, and i had to attend a class...

Atleast you haven't been pulled over for wreckless driving in a parking lot. a cop pulled me over in a parking lot after i had driven in. my passenger goes, "isn't that derek" i look back, hit the breaks and turn hard, I don't think the tires would have normally squeeled but they were almost bald then anyway. so we drive over to where the guy was, he wa talking to someone else in his car, we were just in a circle, talking to one another in the empty side of the movie theatre parking lot. next thing i know, i see this big red truck in my mirror, and i look at my buddies like wtf, there is an empty parking lot and this guy pulls up behind me... i got to move put it in drive, and i see a red flicker.. i look back, its a f-ing cop, i look at my friend and yell GO!, they both take off. cop walks up to my door. and says in a real funny voice,, "yooure driving like a foool" ( yes thats how it sounded ) the passenger in my car starts laughing, im like trying no to laugh, he tells me why he stopped me... i was like office, my tyres need replaced im sorry that happened, he was like, well, i won't write a ticket, but u can't park here for a month... lol. **** happens... o well. i learned my lesson...

It is punishable by jail time, loss of license, community service, and probation or any combination there of. Pm me and I'll give you all the information you need. Don't take this lightly if it is an arrestable offense in your state. And everyone should give him a break. I got pulled over for street racing in my bone stock 16 second Civic because some kids next to me were revving at each other. It is all in the eyes of the police officer and some areas are worse than others. Good luck and pm me if you need help.

Yeah, you need a lawyer. And its not gonna come down to arguing skills, its gonna come down to whether the judge likes your lawyer or not and is willing to do him a favor.

I have 2 friends that got caught racing...on a moderately busy road mind you. They both got off pretty easy, and they were written up for "drag racing". One got it reduced to a non-moving voilation...like a lamp out or something. And the other got reduced to the lowest points level speeding ticket. So it worked out for them. Needless to say, they learned their lesson.

Here in fl the law is 25 over you go to jail and racing is lose of DL and Time. You are going to lose you CDL kiss that good bye and don't go tell the judge you will pay extra that is just going to **** him off. Just show up to court and hope for the best. I would call a lawyer for advice most areas have a free help line for legal advice.

You couldve crashed and killed your "Girl" or anyone else's "Girl" in a different car.. get some ****ing brains, like that one guy said - its people like you who ruin it for everyone else. I don't go 5 mph over with anyone else in the car with me, just because I care about them.. I hope you do lose your cdl and everything that way you won't ever ****ing do it again.

Come off it. Its all situational. Was the road abandoned? Was the area well lit? Etc. A lot of factors play into a safe speed, and I can guarantee that state bureaucrats who set the speed limits, aren't one of them. The current speed limits are revenue generators. People who are so quick to judge 'speeders' are just suck ups to authority. You want your cookie now for saying the token 'right' thing?

I think the kicker here is really the age issue. I have a hard time seeing a judge take it easy on a young male street racing in an Evo...a lawyer won't hurt, but you'll have to end up with a judge that was in a really good mood for this to work out well IMHO. Best of luck, and although we all hope that if it were us it would go well...remember, if you get hit hard you do deserve it (I've been there once or twice...been hit hard before too, so I'm saying this with some personal experience...and yes, they do take your shoelaces when they throw you in the pokey.)
