So I have been reading about intake pipes and MAF misreadings, do you find this a problem?...Why did you go Dejon with Swain coat?

thanks

its actually the cone filters that throws the maf readings off not the pipe since that is after the maf sensor already the swain coat is isnt necessary since the air going in is not hot to make the piping get hot.the swain coating works better on exhaust components since they radiate heat and swain keeps the coated part from heating up.

I thought the Swain coat was overkill...So you are saying products like the Apexi drop-in cone filter is potentially problematic?

Yeah, what these guys said. I have the Dejon Tool also. It works great with the stock airbox, or a cone filter.

^^some maf's get screwed readings with cone intake, you can get tuned for it if you want to get the most out of it.imo a drop in filter would work better

Jamie,

I have an HKS intake pipe that I'm a little hesitant to install because I'm concerned with skewed MAF readings. Have you guys done any testing on using a hard intake pipe with the stock airbox? I'd like to know if it'll work with my P2.

i used to have the dejon tool intake, but had a lot of stalling issues with it. i have since replaced it with the injen kit and absolutely love it. i have no stalling with the injen. it's also easier to tune. with my wideband and afc i could never get consistant readings and tunes with the dejon intake. the injen has made it a lot easier to tune my fuel curve and also have noticed a peak 7whp gain with the injen over the dejon.
