thanks
Apparently there have been soome misreadings with aftermarket MAF pipes only with 272 cams AFAIK. I went with the Dejon Pipe because it fit the stock airbox (plenty of stories about cone filters messing AFRs) and it wasn't overpriced.

BTW, I'd say getting a GT40 turbo is overkill. The Swain Tech coating is cheap insurance, as far as I'm concerned. I've attached pics of my Dejon Tool post Swain Tech here in this thread:

"Mmmm...Swain Tech goodness inside" in Evo Engine/Turbo/Drivetrain

Was this the Dejon with the stock air box or aftermarket filter?

it was with an aftermarket filter. i have no experience with the dejon pipe and the stock airbox. when using the airbox you might not have the problem i did.

Hey Mark,

I have and HKS RS with my P2. I am going back to the stock air box. Since installing my 269 cams, the idle has suffered alot. I figure the engine is getting choked from all the HOT air in the engine bay. The car runs like a dream on the go but just the idle is rough.

Are you gonna keep the HKS intake pipe while reinstalling the stock airbox?

I'll try both HKS pipe and stock, I would be nice to make some money back on the intake but if it helps i'll keep it.

Mark,
We're not fans of intake "kits" that replace the airbox as we've found (as you mention) odd readings at the VAF. There are two parts to this equation: one being the pre-sensor filter, the other the post-sensor piping. Of the two, the piping generally provides the least amount of disturbance to the sensor. It still has somewhat of an effect, but not as significant as the filter may. We haven't done signifcant testing with the Samco unit as of yet, but intend to do some soon.

Jamie,

If you want to do some testing, I can let you guys borrow my HKS intake pipe. I'd like to know if it affects AFRs.

Works - Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but any updates on this? It would help making the decision on whether buying the samco is a good idea when I buy one of your drop-in filters?
