Seibon and VIS OEM C/F hoods are the Same weight as the OEM hoods.......so if you want "LOOKS", then just get one of the C/F Hoods. If you wanna shed a few pounds, get the Robispec or Monster C/F Hood(s)! WEEE!

i have a dry carbon seibon CWII hood and it weighs in at 8.5 lbs and the stock one weighed 22.5lbs so a 14lbs savings. i did it for weight but also for better cooling.
it has helped a ton on keeping the shock reservoirs cool as they are mounted to the strut brace and would really get cooking under the hood.

No way the stock hood weighs 11 lbs. More like 20-22. I'm gonna take mine off and weigh it in a week or so. I'll post the numbers when I get them.

That quote came directly from a worker at Fiber Images so I think they are accurate. My contact also said that is the weight with brackets and everything as mounted. Not bad...

Not dry carbon. Not too expensive either. I can get both delivered for just over $1000 total. Thats for the set.

true, there's not much significant wt reduction with cf hood, but if you're in a situation where you have a damaged hood due to some accident...cf hood is a lot cheaper replacement vs oem hood...plus the cool factor

Weighed my stock aluminum hood and trunk over the weekend. Hood weighed 21.8 lbs and the trunk weighed 21.4 lbs. I use hood pins on both so that weight is without the extra levers and locks on a normal hood. Ordering the fiber images lightweight setup to save about 25 lbs. Easier than going on a diet !

wtf are you talking about?? a fad? really? Its called personal opinion and money.Who the eff has enough money to buy an expensive cf part and then go thru the hassle and hefty amount f cash to paint it??How is it a fad from 3-5 years ago?its been around way longer then that and continues to.I think its wayyyy better then buying crappy looking body kitz that look like they dont even fit just because they are "jdm".Also spending tons of money on any dumb azz arc product just to say you have it.

The only way you'll save weight on a CF hood is to get the Robispec one which is 2x2 weave and u'll save a lb or two or a dry carbon one but they are close to $2k.

My hks kansai one weighs just a c-hair more than stock which was kind of disappointing. But I wanted it more for the 1x1 weave anyways. Good luck bro
