HKS Dynochart of USDM Evo 8
oK HERE'S SOMTHING.... SPORT CAR COMPACT TESTED THE SRT-4 NEON AT 223HP TO THE FRONT WHEELS.
ABOUT HOW MUCH HP IS THIS SRT-4 MAKING AT THE CRANK?
I GUESSED ABOUT 250,... THEY RATE IT AT 215.
THANKS AND NO IM NOT LOOKING AT A NEON FLAME BASH HERE, JUST AN IDEA OF WHAT THIS CAR IS REALLY PUTTING OUT, AND YES I KNOW IT HAS REALLY SKINNY TIRES AND YOU CANT REALLY PUT ALL THAT POWER TO THE WHEELS, ESP WITHOUT LSD.
THANKS

The times at LACR are very bad, and thats because of the horrible surface and high altititude. Remember, that R&T is the only mag to have done an actual test. And they got 13.8 at a crappy track.
Just wait for SCC to come out with their REAL DEAL test numbers. I expect to see very low 13s no doubt.

Getting back to the EVO 8, I found this quote on EVO magazine. The review is for the new JDM 8, however, the quote may apply to our EVO (USDM) and shed some light on the dyno results.
"Power remains the same as the VII's at 276bhp (referring to JDM Spec VII), while torque rises marginally to 290lb ft at 3500rpm. Just between you and me, a couple of Mitsubishi engineers reckon the claimed power figure may be on the modest side and that 307bhp could be closer to the real number. Torque response is immediate and strong from just over 3000rpm through to the 7000rpm redline and beyond."
Speedlimit......

If it really is underated, I will just love to see the faces of the owners of the StI...when our Evo's pass them by.... I'd lov if
did this, it would bring great joy, and prove once and again, the EVO is a very powerfull car and has been, and will be better than our competor... Very nice job indeed..

Dodge lists the car at 215hp.
SCC just demonstrated that it is making much more than that.
