List All Your Evo Problems
20k miles and no major problems.
Brake calipers were pealing, but my dealer replaced them under warranty (it was a ***** for him to get reimbursed though so he won't do it again),
Still on original clutch, brakes and tires (had snow tires on for about 4k miles).
Paint on my heat exchanger in the hood is burning away. Dealer said it's fair wear and tear so i'm gonna repaint it my next day off.
Replaced my intercooler spray switch due to coffee being spilt on it and it freezing up..lol.
Had paint chips on the rear fenders but got the clear protectors and no problems now.
Only major problem is other drivers can't seem to see a yellow EVO. Been hit 3x, rear ended dead center of rear bumper (I was stopped on a sunny day at a red light), hit and run on left rear quarter ( parked in a parking lot) and hit by a kid on a bicycle on the right rear quarter (car was parked at my apartment).
Other then that I love my car!!!

look for clutch, transmission, and T-case problems. Drive the car before you buy it
-Drive the car on the highway shifting into every gear above 4000 rpm
-Listen for any whining noises- thats a a bad T-case - new t-case from MItsu costs $2800.00
-Make sure the clutch isn't slipping. Can easily be replaced by an after market one
-Make sure the car is still under warrenty
-Have mitsubishi run the VIN number- Mitsubishi has a data base of voided warrentys if that car was known to be and the track

My 03 had the heater box replaced at 16k miles (knob wouldn't hardly turn), paint chips on the rear door frames (3M strips cure that), and I just had my trunk lid repainted under warranty because the paint was lifting in several places. I also have an input bearing noise, but I'm waiting for the synchros to get a little worse before I have it fixed. I'll put in a new clutch at that point too.
my only problem with my evo is that it doesnt give any problem at all. i want it to have a problem but it just drives so good. and now my problem is that i have to sell her for financial reason.
