32 and have an electrical company. Paid cash for mine and can buy 20 more if I wanted but that would be dumb. Thanks to all the military guys you deserve an evo and more. Then again you military guys are quite lazy, and you act like cave mans. I know this because both my brothers are military

42, ER Tech. I barely make enough to support my habit LOL. I mean barely. Like I don't go out, I don't buy fancy clothes, etc. All so I can budget for the car and track days. LOL
Priorities.

Jesus Christ, that's determination. LOL. I love my Evo, but I can't say I'd pay almost $800/mo for it.

I'm 20, and am a Mercedes Benz technician. I only pay $120/month for full coverage, and am still considered a "new" driver. If my insurance was $200+/month I would probably sell this car.

When I read this thread I thought WTF, Evo's are about the same price of a camry these days so why not but then I saw it's an old dredged up thread from when they were new, here in Aus I remember the Evo 9 was about 70k on the road new, it was classed as an exotic car and the most expensive jap car on the market at that time, it was out of reach of most 24 yr olds and I remember not seeing many on the roads compared to STIs, which were always a few grand cheaper. I think Subaru won the marketing race easily. If it was 2006 and I was 24 with 70k in my pocket I'd probably would have bought a low k 911 or put a deposit on a house lol

Regarding today money, 2 years ago when I was just starting to look for a good condition 9, I bumped into a guy in a car park with a new Evo 10, he had spent 70k for it and just up spec'd the front diff, clutch, turbo and suspension, all up 100k he had spent, I was gobbed smacked that someone could spend that on a lancer lol, I said to him isn't there demo Nismo GTRs going for around 100k, he said yeh but I love my Evo

The trick to being able to afford an Evo is to wait 11 years after this thread was made.
