+1

I did the same thing. Saved up for a down payment through college and then bought one brand new in July of '04 right after I landed my first full-time job. I still dont have the cash to modify that much. Right now I am only around 340whp. I finally paid it off here last month but now all my money is going to go toward saving up for a house so I guess the modding will have to wait a bit longer.

So that brings up a follow up question....how do people afford all their mods?? Do some people max out credit cards or still owe $20k on their car that makes 500whp? I just dont get it! What am I doing wrong? haha!

Quote: For those 22 or younger it seems like they either been working their whole lives starting at BK or McDs and have not done anything but save money and have no life until now to afford the Evo or the parents chipped in a good deal, assuming that the car is paid in full. Only other option I can see is that you put a down payment and financing the car.

That was almost harsh...

Both the wife and I are military so we get double the pay benefits...it helped. Anyway..we fall under the financed category...5,000 down on a used '03.
