Here is what you need to do. You must have two working keys (orignal) to program up to 2 addtional keys. The information for programing the keys are in the how to forums. Have the dealer cut the keys and tell them you know how to program the keys yourself. The keys are like 35-40 each, but to have them program they want like .5hr of labor. It took me 5 min to do both keys.

so basically... waht ur sying, is that if i get 1 extra key from the dealer (or 2) i give the shop one of those keys (after programmed), the remote start will work, AND the immobilizer will still work? for those keys that are not cut and put into the bypass unit.

i'm not worried about dealer charges, i work at a mitsu dealer, and i am pretty tight with the service guys, they love my car 'cause they don't see too many R//A's, especially 5-speed, 2005

 

Got my alarm installed... they didn't have the window modules.. and to my surprise I don't have a immobilizer ANYWAY!

I got a new key for $8 from my dealer, and it worked fine.. no programming needed.

UNLESS the shop already bypassed it somehow.. the computer here at the dealer said no immobilizer on mine.

going back on tuesday for windows and remote start install....

so far i love the alarm, gonna play around with the settings tonight. Maybe i'll be an ultimate ricer and keep the Turbo Timer on, even though I do not have one. (a turbo).
