227.3 WHP on a mustang dyno

Had the car dynoed today. 227.3 whp and 232.0 ft/lbs. The car has been on a dyno dynamics dyno and posted 248 whp and 248 ft/lbs. Interesting in the difference. Mods are in my sig.

Sounds about right for an '05 on a Mustang dyno (which reads a lot lower than most others).

I did it mainly so I could have a baseline reading on the car so when my JIC DP gets here (next week I hope) I will have a reference as to what it is doing to the car.

Wow, that is quite a difference. I never knew it mattered that much. Where is all the hp and tq being lost on a mustang dyno? I don't really understand it all.

its not really being lost. Dyno's all read differently. That was why I needed to have a baseline on this one. I moved from Phoenix to Las Vegas and have to go to a different shop.

Yea, the basic rule of thumb is... that you can add 10-12% more power to that if it was a dynojet, and those numbers have been proven pretty consistently

I wish I could explain it to you (I'm not that technically compitent) but I suggest you do a search; this has been addressed many times.

This is the reason why comparing dyno numbers from different dynos, run on different days under different conditions is absolutely meaningless.

A dyno run should be used simply as a baseline for establishing power output before and after adding mods. If you run your baseline on a particular dyno, then you should ideally re-visit the same dyno after adding mods to gauge the performance difference.

Thats exactly why he dynoed his car. And you are correct, A dyno run is for a baseline. and to tune your car.

Wow you made 248WHP on a dyno dynamics with those mods in your sig, wow that's impressive, for so few of mods.

Seems unlikely, but maybe. That's roughly 290whp on a dynojet. That's pretty high.

Pretty unlikely?? I have the dyno sheet.......I can prove it. Along with the time slips from the same day that say 13.497@101.6.
