So.CAL Race Gas Location

This pertains mostly for the Santa Fe Springs Crowd or neighboring cities. I personally Live In Bellflower.

While on my never ending quest for better gas in California , I ran across Crosby Oils in Santa Fe Springs, which is down the street from RRE ( for those who know the Area)

GT100 Unleaded 4.57gal.
GT104 Unleaded
GT110 unleaded 3.99/gal.

They also sell other Leaded types but these were the ones most interesting to me.

you DO have to fill out a credit application thru them like if you were to get a Shell or Cheveron card, but the process is painless and you will be able to recieve your card in 3 business days!

Here is the credit Application, once completed you can mail or fax it to them (fax is the fastest way to get your response and card )

here is the Exact location for all you lazy bastards :

Their telephone Number is 562-946-4404 ask for "Flor" she has been working with me for the last 2 days and is extremely helpful and Intelligent.

Tell Flor I sent you , ( not that I will get anything but I am hoping for a TRICK T-shirt atleast )

any other questions , feel free to ask away

beats me.

My guess she Made a mistake in saying 110 unleaded. I know Leaded "not for street use" fuels dont carry a Tax. so that may be the culprit

They also have a location on Mission Gorge Road (well, Fairmount actually), about a mile from Qualcomm stadium in San Diego.

I always wanted to ask the same question. I mean if we can get it why doesnt anyone sell it? and if the reason they arnt selling it is because they cant then how do the little guys like Cosby get away with giving me a personal charge card?

probably because he sells more 100 octane.

About 10 years ago when i visited UTAH, 87 was the most expensive octane because thats what most people used. I couldnt believe it.

As recently as four years ago, the 76 station at the end of my street in San Jose sold 94 octane unleaded at the pump. I don't know what's going on now, I suspect the credit thing with Cosby is that they aren't set up to deduct the appropriate taxes/tariffs at the pump, so they have to do it through their accounting system. Just a guess, though.

I don't know why high-octane unleaded would be illegal per se in CA, but if it's an opportunity to pass a new law or levy a new tax, you know they aren't going to pass it up!

You are right. Either I or her made a mistake.

I got my card today and directly headed to the pumps to top off with 104
I think I am at about 98 Octane currently and hopefully I'll weed that **** water out of my system!

Also with the card came a little book and price guide. The little book contains locations to ALL CFN fueling stations, its in order of cities and even includes a little map with Stars and location indicators
