ipod link to infinity system
Can anyone confirm that it does or doesn't?
Are you 100% sure? Remember, I have the Infinity sound system w/ sub, and from what I've seen, a) no one can get aux input and b) replacing the head unit means crazy adapters if you wanna keep factory amp/sub
You don't need a bunch of adapters. With an aftermarket headunit, get a ipod adapter from the maker of the headunit such as alpine, kenwood, or pioneer. And to keep the factory infinity system, get a MITAH adapter, search for it on ebay. It's simple

This is the only thing I've seen for the OE units. It connects just as an OE changer would. Don't let the price on the page fool you ... you would actually need the "adapter" which is $160, not the harness for $32. The harness allows install if you already have a changer ans is used with the adapter.
I'm not sure if this works for the SSL unit.

Too bad these weren't out 2 years ago, it would have been much cheaper.
There is an FM transmitter that plugs into your lighter and works really well. Im not sure of the name of it, but you can get it at best buy. I had a itrip before this one and it sucked, this one though is really good. Its charges it and plays it at the same time and you really wont have normal static that you get from the itrip. I think that they come in black and white.

I think Shimla's gonna try the ipod harness from mitsubishi parts n e ways....let us know if it works!
FM transmitter is absolutely out of the question...
I know about the MITAH, but I don't feel like swapping out headunits unless that's my only option, not to mention i STILL need to buy an iPod adapter AFTER the headunit...
I have seen the 500whp adapter, but no one can confirm it's good for SSL head unit!

I don't understand how the Mitsu adapter won't work on a SSL. Why wouldn't it work? It plugs into the CD changer port which is the same on both SSL and non-SSL headunits. The reason why I bought an aftermarket headunit, aftermarket ipod adapter, and mitah adapter was because the Mitsu Ipod Adapter was not out 2 years ago.
I have my mp3 player plugged into my stock head unit with a little device from audiovox. You can find it locally at electronic stores, but ebay and other online stores sell them for less http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-AUDIOVOX-FMM...QQcmdZViewItem . The sound is amazing, install is simple, it works with anything that has a standard headphone jack, and you don't need any additional parts. You take out your deck, plug the antenna plug into the audiovox box, plug it's plug into the antenna port on your deck, give the little box power, and you're done.
The best part is that there is a switch that controls whether the device is on or not. When it's on, it basically shuts out the radio reception so you get ZERO static from FM channels. (I love this since I travel a lot and I don't ever have to change the fm channel to get a good signal.) When it's off, I get perfect FM and AM reception.
