Motor Oil Question

So, before I go into a deep research on the motor oil again, I've been checking my oil color.

At 1000 miles or even before that, the oil turns real black.

it's not slushy or anything and the consistancy is fairely consistant with the new oil consistancy, but the color of it worries me a bit, because I'm not certain it should look like that.

I've checked my gf's oil with 1000 miles and it does have that brownish golden color tint to it, although most of it is black.

So, is this normal?

The oil level's good.

thanks.

The darkness means nothing, just as long as the viscosity of the oil holds up.

that's what I was thinking, but isn't there more to that?

I'm thinking maybe it's something wrong my engine.

I drive my car hard usually.... well all the time.

The evo does have an oil cooler that will stay full during an oil change. So after an oil change, all the oil in the oil cooler will mix with the new and darken it up pretty fast.

The evo also runs rich and that will darken the oil up pretty fast.

This type of thread has been discussed before, try searching for it if ur still concerned.
