Actually if your bank info is online on there servers they will go in take it out anyway which is why you should have a bank account just for paypal. Transfer your funds to that account then manually move it from that acount to your main account. That way if they try to get smart they cant draft anything.

I think people are the same way with me...The only time i will buy from someone private is if its c.o.d.

this is why I always deal with the USPS. I only use USPS money orders and I only ship via the US Postal Service. If somebody ask for money for an item and you send them a postal money order and they cash it but do not send the product that is mail fraud. Me personally would rather have a federal offense against somebody for ripping me off then a 3rd party who really don't give a ****

Indeed I think paypal is one of the ****tiest companies around. Because they are not a bank they are not regulated at all and are really not held accountable or deemed liable for a lot of the fraud that goes on. I only use paypal for small amounts now, anything over a few hundred gets certified check.

For an absolutly safe way to use PayPal... after you recieve any payment - immediatly pipe it into your linked account (keep this balance below $100, or whatever your bank's minimum is), then after it clears there - pipe it to another account. Can be the same bank or different, no matter - just different account number.

After it's out of both accounts (PayPal and Linked Account) no way to get it back.

Good luck with this.

I have had this kind of situation before... i sell some stuff on Ebay and got paypal charge back when in fact i did ship the stuff to the buyer.
eventually i got my money back after showing proof of sending, tracking numebrs etc..
it's taking a bit long but you'll get your money back
what paypal is doing is that they did not return the money back to the buyer's account, instead the payment is held up for further investigation... PM me if you need more info

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, however, I was just recently scammed by this same guy on ebay.

A few weeks ago I won an ebay auction for a stock evo 8 turbo, manifold, and O2 housing. I paid via paypal and awaited the guy to give me a tracking number. About 3 days after I paid I received a response saying that he was shipping the turbo on Friday, March 31. According to UPS, it would take 5 business days to deliver the turbo. Throughout the following week I e-mailed him on a daily basis asking for a tracking number. I received no response from him. By the next friday, no response and no turbo. I was fed up enough to file a claim against paypal. They gave him 10 days to respond, otherwise I would get my money back. At this point, it was no big deal if paypal was going to give my money back. 10 Days after the claim, April 17th, Paypal decided the claim in my favor due to no response. Even though the claim was in my favor, paypal could only refund me $175 of the $230 I sent the guy since he had "insufficient funds" in his paypal account. Glad I got some money back, but still very frustrated this guy gets away with my money.

The name on the paypal account was Kenya Harbin, some background searches turns up that he is 53 years old. I am wondering how the hell somone like this could rip me off. Further investigation through ebay yeilded the following resutls:

Email: fivefifteen@swbell.net
User ID: sauceyevo
Name: Braden Harbin
Company:
City: Fort Smith
State: AR
Country: United States
Phone: (479) 651-8579
Registered Since: Sunday, Apr 03, 2005 15:05:45 PST

Auction link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT

Some searches on this forum appear that he's associated with polk performance, supposedly their EMS tooner.

I am very frustrated that someone like that would do this. I would more expect it from the scum here in socal.

Just wanted to let you all know THIS GUY is still ripping people off.
