EXACTLY! PAYPAL PROTECTS NO ONE! And never pay a dime to have that so called "Protection Insurance" or any other scam they are running. Really, you just need to know ways to protect yourself.

It really amazes me sometimes at how dishonest people really are. If you are selling, the only way Paypal will hold the claim in your favor is if you have proof of delivery, and provide them with the tracking number. Hell, you could send them a box of donuts, as long as it has a valid delivery confirmation #, the buyer is up the creek on the new turbo he thought he bought. The only thing Paypal cares about it proof of delivery. They can't do anything about what was actually shipped.

As a Buyer, the main thing is you need to know your seller. Try to check them out the best you can. Because like I said above, they can send you anything, and you can't get your money back if they have a delivery #. The problem is when these people extract the money from their Paypal account, then you are at Paypal's mercy, which usually means SOL.

And the reason you can't get money back from people who extracted it from their account is because their PAYPAL account is $0. Paypal WILL NOT make withdrawals from your bank accounts. If they did, then you would get all your money back every time! They would just withdrawal from that persons bank account, but they don't, and they shouldn't! I would have major problems with a company that makes withdrawals from my bank account!

Paypal is basically a big rip, but they are a one man show right now. Hopefully another company with step up with lower fees and better service, but until then....cover yourself!

Well.... actually when they do a charge back scam... your account will go negative if you have nothing in it. I got ripped off for $600 for a digital camcorder i sold. I had spent most of the money on car mods the following week and then noticed my account was -$500. I was like WTF??? After tons of fighting, I got through to an executive at paypal named Lee Nastase who helped me out and pursued legal action against the thief. I also got my money returned by paypal. NONE of the phone jockies there would give my money back. Just go over their head and ask for a supervisor. Then get the supervisors supervisor.
