I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that it was open, but I could be wrong...

Yeah, and they're paying at least $10K more for the car...

But isn't that a combination of ACD/AYC LSD and better radio?

Oh yeah, high tax

It is a combination for all that... and the tax...

I don't think the USDM is "way too expensive" (as some people put it) for the package that Mitsu provide. I think we all have to realize that the USDM EVO is more of a "EVO 7.5 RSII less ACD" than a LHD EVO 8 GSR.

I'm still happy for what we've got

Yes it would be worth it...it would tighten the front end traction considerably, if you watch the Japanese gymkana's you can actually see the difference from outside the car.........the front diff change would not be that difficult....if you plan to do the job at the same time you change the clutch

there are plenty of direct fit lsd's available. check out ones made by cusco in japan since they are some of the best and reasonably priced.

Agreed, if you're going thru all those trouble swapping out a front diff, why don't you go for one of the best LSDs out there?

Hi!

The us evo viii is a good car at a really good price, and even if there is not a front lsd it's not a big problem.
Even in europe a lot of evos v and vi came without a front lsd.

You don't have to fit a standard evo vii lsd, except if you find a used one at a good price, but just get the ralliart 1.5way lsd for the JDM evo viii, or even better a cusco one.

Trust me, even if the acd should be a good thing, the ayc would really decrease the evo handling and performance compared to the mechanical lsd!

At 30000$ you get the latest evo with warranty, a nicer look rear bumper than the japanese evo viii, clear front and rear indicators, hid front lights, the evo vii rs transmission (the acd is an option on the vii rs as probably the front lsd), the only good things you don't get is the 6 speed gearbox, and the acd.

But hey when you get the evo, with a reasonable price you can change the complete exhaust for 1000$, air filter for 200$, front lsd for 2000$, ecu for 1000$, and at around 35000$ you have a 350 bhp evo, with front lsd that will accelerate as faster than the new maranello and at least as fast than the porsche turbo under 200kmh.
