If i choose the Evo and i am leaning that way....

1st... Driving school at Road Atlanta/Tint

2nd... Turbo Timer

3rd.... Exaust/Intake (I always do these at the same time)

4th.... Downpipe

5th.... Boost controller/Fuel controller (I always do these at the same time too )

6th.... Chip with Tuning (The boost must go up w/ fuel)

7th... Suspension Upgrade

8th....Front end change

9th... Altezzas (Clear lights to full red)

10th..More Driving School.

11th..Stereo upgrade (Speakers and probably no sub)

I am going to be looking for Ralliart to give a very nice package.

1. Full 3" exhaust
2. Turbo timer
3. Coilovers
4. Boost controller
5. C-West front bumper
6. Get rid of those nasty-*** tail lights

(Somewhere in there I have to buy a house, so these may take a while... )

Hey wuz up. Im bored and I wanted to know what was the 1st mod your gonna put on your Evo VIII. As for me the first thing I wanna do is get a Blow off Valve . Post your replys and let me know and everyone else know whats the first mod you wanna do to your Evo VIII.
The first mod I am doing once I get my Evo is being done to the DRIVER.

I am enrolling in a High Performance Driving Event so that I can properly learn how to drive my car.

without knowing how to properly drive a car such as this, you will never be able to take full advantage of any power/suspension modifications you make.

I realize modifications will make the car quicker, and I do plan on doing many stealthy mods, such as boost controller, BOV, retune the computer or get a piggyback ECU, Turbo Manifold (Header for the EvoVII), Downpipe, and turbo piping, free-flow exhaust system. Has anyone considered that this car may have value in original unmolested condition? I definitely intend to only make modifications to the car that I can easily remove or change back.

I live in the northeast, so two things I really intend to do is buy a set of rims and tires and to preserve the originals from getting damaged. Also window tint, Theft and bright sun in the summer are the reasons for that. Besides a black EVO with black rims (polished or machined outers) and dark tint is just EVIL looking..

Um, BOV and high flow exhaust are not stealthy mods. ppl will hear you coming, and the BOV's are usually more about advertising your turbo than improving performance that much. Unless you're talking about a recirculating BOV instead of one that vents to atmosphere.

Otherwise I agree with your comments, especially about the value of an unmolested EVO8 in the years to come.

Oh yeah and I wholeheartedly agree with previous comments about driving school. The good driver mod remains the single best performance improvement you can ever make for your car. That and the driver weight loss mod for us chunky Americans (at 6'6" and 240 lbs I could stand to drop some weight myself).

Actually you have a point, and I didn't mean the Kazoo's (what we old guys around here call them) I was referring to the recirculating type. I go back to the days of the GMC Syclone and Grand National.. We had to make our own stuff. I like stealthy and quiet, and even modifications I make are designed to blend with OEM. If it doesn't exist, I have it fabricated. I'm actually not that thrilled about an aftermarket exhaust because of the noise, but thats a necessary evil. Ultimately, it just has to be a modification that can be reversed without alot of time or effort.

Why? Because I have been driving turbo cars for years and I don't think I could live without one!!!!
