I wanted to know if the US Evo gets this air intake thing. Because I saw some pics with it and some with out.

I'm about 99.9% that the answer would be yes since I believe the picture you chose to illustrate your question was taken in Thailand when the press was invited to drive the US Spec Evo VIII.

Yes we do. That is the U.S. evo. The eailer pics at the L.A. auto show has them on and the later one do not. I dont know if they removed it or stolen?

I think GtR is right. If you look closely on his pic you can see a hole in the airbox where the air scoop should be. So I guess the US Evo does come with it.

they might have taken the scoops off for the shows to open up the view of the engine or something

Good point. I'd have to agree. The scoop sure does cover up a bit of the engine and it would benefit the show-going crowd to be able to see past this huge piece of plastic.

Hey...I took that pic haha!!

The blue evo I took spy pics of at the Mitsu HQ had it I believe. Let me try to find a pic.

I'm also thinking that could be some type of dealer option/add on??

It comes with it. The evo in philly car show had closed hood, and you could see the intake duct.. someone musta yanked it in the LA show.. damn kids.
