Careful planning for new 05 Evo to come..
Ok i was thinking of selling my Evo and getting an MK4 Supra but dont wanna pay 30-40k for a used Supra TT with 30k,40K+ mileage on it. So now, im getting rid of 03 which i have experienced lots of "bugs" on and moving onto a 2005 GSR no sunroof this time either for lighter weight. So few quick questions before i get to my point..
-do the 05s tend to have syncronizer issues and TC issues especially like the 03s?
-how much more hp/tq do they put down to the wheels over hte 03/04s stock to stock
and my mod route i have in mind now is:
Buschur Stg. 4
Vishnu/Works p2 flash
Turbo XS UTEC
TME 6.5 Ti turbo
Buschur alky kit
I know the Buschur Stg 4 alone on stock turbo on race fuel pushes out about 380whp.
My goal is to daily drive my car in stop n go traffic, hwy, etc...daily driver for work basically and race pretty often. My main concern of sticking to a 16G(TME) is that by running the alky kit, im gonna be boosting higher maybe about 23-24psi daily. Would this hurt my turbo in the long run or will the titanium fins of the turbo hold up compared to a stock 16G running 22psi daily. I want low to mid 400WHP with the alky kit. How's it sound?

2) About 20 more whp on average in stock form.
I highly doubt you'll end up with low to mid 400s with that stuff on a daily basis, since you have 91oct, despite the alky. If you accomplish it, though, let us know...
hmm ok, so what do u think i will put down with a Exedy single/Fidanza aluminum flywheel added to that list along with the mods i stated above. The TurboXS will be professionally tuned, not sure who yet though.

Whichever the case, if the MR tranny is considered notchy, then there's nothing wrong with notchy...
Mitsu tranny is the worst tranny I have ever used. try reving up to +6000 rpm with 3rd gear and switch to 5th gear quick and see what happens. you will have 5th gear grind. No car I have driven ever did that. At least, it is happening on my car. It is has only 1200 miles. almost brand new.

If I do this from 3rd to 5th or 6th, it doesn't grind. Nothing grinds in any gear at any time, but maybe the 6spd is better.

That is bad on your syncros. Never skip gears, its just adding stress to an already mediocre part.
So going to 5000 rpm in 1st then shifting to 3rd is bad news? Normally I don't skip gears but after seeing my friend with his Vette skip gears to save gas I figured I would try it and see how it goes. Amazingly the car seems to pull just fine using part throttle even though it drops in the 2500-3000 RPM range. Of course I'm not speed shifting but I'm not sure what the dangers would be.
